Ok back to boxing.

The guy had enough to beat a lot of his domestic rivals - and always had potential to make an interesting undercard fight here and there (e.g Matthew Hall) therefore could have made a reasonable living and received fight opportunities.

But I think towards the end he lacked focus and was becoming completely immersed in his new way of life, and his performances reflected it.

I don't he was a big ticket seller, though talented, but needed the title to earn the money, once he lost it, he lost his interest.

Anthony Small - deary me, the guy must have took one too many shots to the head cos he went a bit off his rocker by the looks of it. A weak-minded guy who latched onto something to follow. That's what most religion is for, be it radical or not.

Agreed. But for me , the reason he lost it was that he had previously lost interest.

I think he was an unpopular figure by the time of the Webb ring walk and the defeat compacted his feelings on continuing.

Yes, he felt everyone was against him, he felt he was robbed against Webb( I thought he was outworked by Webb and show boated a bit too much ) and was stopped too early against Pryce ( though he was hurt and on unsteady legs, he might of got through it, who knows ), he beat some good guys like Prince Arron, Takalloo, Mathew Hall, McDonagh and Freddie Curriel, but having such a nickname did not go down well and neither did wearing the football shirt of a team that had just trounced Wigan F.C, when defending his title in Wigan against Thomas McDonagh, he was a character though, one time making two ring entrances for the one fight, the first as Frank Sinatra and the second in his scream mask lol.

He was always a bit unstable and a bit of an outsider so I guess he was prime fodder for radical Islam. I still remember that disgraceful video of him was it in Wooton Basseett I think, jeering the soldiers, something like that. Disgrace, should be deported for things like that.

Just jogged my memory I was at that fight it was dire. As for the post above that said he had a lot of fans on that night he had none!

( of course they weren't moaning about him fighting when he was making large wedges of $$ for them )

Knew Anthony a little when he was down at the Lodge. Quite a nice fella but always seemed a bit lost and a tad on the outside. As a boxer he was extremely difficult to reach and had a fair dig on him. Never a ticket seller so having the belt was key to him earning a few quid. Once that was gone and his step towards extremism made him a leper in Boxing circles and probably hastened him embracing it.

Real shame and fear it will not have a happy ending. The people pulling the strings behind the scenes will not be the chaps left facing the music - it will be the likes of Mr. Small.

Well said mate, I agree with everything you have wrote, I met him a few times as well, don't know what his next step will be now, hopefully he will get away from them, but the damage might already be done.

There's no such thing as a god though, it's a scientific impossibility and if i ran the country such people would be forced to be atheist or executed.

was going to tell him the same things myself, but thought it would be a waste of time, he will still believe what his warped mind thinks, not to mention there was a Muslim ruler of India before as well and many Arabs relocated there under the Muslim ruler, a lot are still there to this day.
