Does the Quigg vs Frampton happen on Sky or allegedly? Any opinions?

Personally I think it should be on Fwank channel. Carl is the real world champion and he should call the shots not Scott

As a fan of boxing I'm getting fed up with Scott opposition. Eddie really needs to step it up!!!!

Anyone see Eamonn O'Kane fight? Someone in the CS is suggesting that a bit of homecooking may have been involved; is that fair to say?

Dunno if I'd go that far. Was a scrappy fight and O'Kane was hurt and seemingly turning his back on purpose.

It was a sh1t end to a sh1t fight.

I've always thought O'Kane was pretty shite to be honest. I know he's a pretty damn decent amateur but it doesnt show when he boxes quite often.

Sky is more likely but I'd rather see it on allegedly, miles better coverage.

O'Kane was hurt in the first, ropes held him up, count was given, after that the Lithuanian tried to finish him off and smothered his own work and was cut from a clash of heads. The fight then turned into a complete mess, O'Kane was all over the place and the other lad just rushed in and they spent the rest of the fight tangled up. Both could have had 2-3 points taken off for various reasons, but the only point that came off was in the second when the ref took the Lithuanian back to the corner to look at the cut and the trainer rubbed vaseline into it with the towel. In the 4th it was stopped because of the cut - technical draw, didn't see any homecooking going on.

I dare say Sky would try and put a Quigg v Frampton fight on PPV. Bad news for fans.

As soon as the corner failed to sort the cut out it was obvious the fight would have to be stopped because of it, the eye was full of blood by the second half of every round...imo Marcus Mcdonnell allowed the fight to continue to give Okane chance to nose ahead on the cards and claim a technical decsion victory...when it became apparent that Okane couldnt take a lead he stopped the fight at the last possible moment 10 seconds before it would have resulted in a loss for O'kane. Was disgraceful home cooking, the eye was no worse at that point than it had been in the previous 3 rounds

Reminded me of Khan v Barrera. If O Kane was ahead that fight gets stopped in the 5th, 100%

Nice job Frampton.......I opted to listen to it on 5 Live and Mike Costello called the fight very well.
Groaned when Bellew was introduced as Mike's co-commentator but Tony was really articulate and interesting, in fact a revelation of sorts. I am not sure what the Beeb's sound engineers do.....but they made the fight and atmosphere come to life.

Punch perfect performance from Frampton,i only gave Martinez a share of a round so had it 120-108,maybe i could see down to 118-109 but any closer than that then im not having it

It was as measured performance ive ever seen against a dangerous fighter and Carl boxed beautifully and has the talent to avoid fighting non hopers like Diego Silva etc,put Frampton in the big fights right away i say

Undercard was diabolical i must say

Five Live always do a cracking job- you also know its a big fight when they cover it and always sounds it
I sometimes listen to the commentary and keep the picture

No, they wouldn't. Eddie has said that the first fight would not be PPV but said the second one if needed would be. There wont be a second one though because Frampton looks much better than Quigg and would beat him easily.

Great performance, really controlled a dangerous fighter and showed a terrific chin too. Class all the way and he really looks an exceptional talent. One of the those rare fighters you'd not be too worried about throwing in with most, although the P4P Rigo is obviously going to be avoided by everyone, with good reason.

But the Quigg fight could be a great attraction to be going on with, and Carl will be a big favourite there.

Love Kiko Martinez. Glad Carl won but was hoping for a little more Kiko success. Had it closer on the cards than the judges but a very clear and accomplished performance.

18 months time -- Carl stays just as focused -- maintains that concentration in and out of the ring -- he can beat Rigo

Rigo is supremely gifted. That being said I can't help thinking he might be getting a teeny bit too much credit on here.

I also felt the ref did no favours to the Lithuanian dude, they were both equally naughty in their own ways but the away fighter ends up with a point taken off.

Not to mention the constant back-turning of O'Kane who didn't look like he could take the power one bit.

I don't feel like it was outrageous or anything, but I do feel the ref did his best to look after O'Kane a bit. If O'Kane was the away fighter he could well have been stopped.

slightly O/T but did anyone hear the radio coverage after the fight?

the 'interview' with Frampton was a little bit farcical, IMO. why? well, Tony Bellew was obviously a bit excited. instead of the usual interview format- ask question, wait for response- we had Tony basically telling him at great length how well he'd done not to fight emotionally, etc etc. as interviews go it was about 1/12 Frampton 11/12 Bellew.

To be fair, it's probably nice for a fighter to just listen to someone tell them how well they did rather than have to answer to same old questions from interview after interview right after 12 hard rounds
