If i was a top level supermiddle, I'd be chasing that fight. Murray is a big middle but not a big puncher and last night did show that his power (although big) is not as destructive as is sometimes made out and he can be hit. Froch 2 years ago v GGG today would end in a froch victory in my opinion.

Froch vs golovkin would be a great fight.

Hats off to Martin Murray for his effort, but he met a man on another planet to him in MW terms.

Golovkin needs a superfight: I don't know who against, but he needs one.

He's stated that he's willing to go up or down to get the big fights, so either go down & go after FMJ; go up & go after Froch or Ward, or stay where he is & wait for El Canelo.

They'd all be superfights & I think Golovkin has earned that & needs it.

I think Golovkin stops Froch.
Froch gets ht too regular which is a bad start against a puncher like Golovkin.
Would love to see it though.

Murray isn't a big enough puncher to slow Golovkin down, especially when 90% of his work was from on the ropes which is a hard place to generate any power from. Great effort from Murray, can hold his head up high after that attempt.

Yeh, younger version of Froch vs Golovkin would have been a monster fight. It still would be but Carl at 37 doesn't want or need it and I don't blame him.

In Carl's favour we do have to remember he's a beast at super-middle who can genuinely hurt people and a granite chin. Golovkin does look the business though, certainly not the type of guy you want to be fighting at the end of a long career.

Julio Cesar Chavez has called him out on twitter. If nothing else, he'll take him some rounds as he's such a big effin' lump!

GGG is formidable. He could dominate the middleweight division for years.

Brave effort from Murray, who could still has some big fights left in him.

Can anyone see GGG fighting Hopkins next up? The old man would love the challenge especially as he'd have some weight advantages

Hopkins has just come off a one-sided beating from an Eastern European, I doubt he fancies another one quite so soon

I reckon he would think he could tip the odds slightly more in his favour at 170lb though

Hopkins isn't an attractive option now in my opinion: fifty, no belt, coming off a highly lopsided defeat, and a very fan unfriendly style that makes it difficult for people to look good even if they beat him. He may be a name, but even then it's not as if opponents tend to make huge money by fighting him.
