Some excellent fight analysis in here so far but if I can just add one caveat - can we stop calling Fury a switch hitter?

Yes, he can box southpaw as I imagine any pro boxer could, but it doesn't mean he's any good at it. Lest we forget, the ref actually had to halt the Chisora fight to show him how to jab properly. Wlad boxed an actual southpaw in TT, won all 17 rounds over two fights and knocked him out twice so lets not pretend the key to beating him is a right-handed jab

I suppose it is a matter of opinion.

But, Fury won every single round vs top 10 ranked Chisora and Hammer as a Southpaw and Klitschko himself considers him Tyson a switch hitter.

Bottom line is I imagine in sparring Wladimir will be preparing for Fury to box from both stances.

I think Peter would if he needed to be pulled out. He seems a cool customer who won't allow emotion to rule his head. Tyson's old man should be kept well away from the corner!

My main concern about Fury is that he hasn't fought anyone of Wlad's size in preparation. Fury has done well against smaller fighters and used his size to his advantage. I think Fury's been very carefully matched so far and the Haye fights were a calculated risk, lots of money for fighting a much smaller man. Fury has never fought anyone of Wlad's size and speed and I think that will show when they get in the ring. Wlad on the other hand has fought a variety of fighters. If Fury goes southpaw, then Wlad has already fought 17 rounds with Tony Thompson. Orthodox, he's fought Pulev and stacks of others.

Wlad's chin isn't his strength, but he protects it well. Fury's ain't the best, but he is sometimes wide open and fights square on.

Fury's never fought anyone who hits as hard as Wlad. Wlad has fought harder hitters than Tyson, faster fighters and more skilled fighters than Tyson.

I like Fury, I always have, but that has nowt to do with how the fight will go. Fury isn't going to control the fight, so he ain't going to win on points unless he puts Wlad on the floor. That's possible, but not likely. Wlad will come in to the ring in his usual fantastic shape. Fury? Who knows? He'll probably come in to the ring in what he classes as great shape, which is a little soft.

I'd love to see Fury do it, but I really think he's in for a systematic beating, before he get knocked down three times in the 5th or 6th and the fight is waved off.

I pondered almost the exact same thoughts on the other Fury Klitschko thread earlier today. So I agree.
