Not sure on the rule. It might be a case you have to if the opponent requests. expe would be a good guy to ask, his knowledge on that kind of stuff is usually very good.

Don't think there's any specific rule that the beard has to come off, certainly not seen one, Anthony Cacace fought with a bigger beard than Kelly in October. I'd presume that it's just if the opponent asks for it like you say, ala Enzo Calzaghe and "we want to see your chin when we hit it".

Yep. Sh1te. They always do it. They pick the fighter that is supposed to win and back him no matter what. If it goes the distance and their fighter was dominated, they start talking about how scoring a fight is subjective.

Very brave effort from Kelly,i thought he boxed excellently at times mixing shots upstairs and down,just didnt seem to have the strength to keep Smith off,Liam's a bull,he just keeps ploughing forward and i dont think he's been the distance since Ochieng

Because Matchroom and Sky pirates are not showing it. Can you imagine the typical Hearn (senior and junior) hyperbole about '2 all British/Irish world title fights on one bill with a stacked 10 fight undercard' 'we're talking 6 hours of competitive Boxing including 2 evenly matched world titles' 'real value for money' 'when was the last time you witnessed a British bill like it?' Blah blah

The last Crolla bill had multiple WT fights and wasn't PPV. As much as the last PPV wasn't good enough it's a given people would go ballistic if one of the Matchroom World champs had a defence against someone like Kelly.

I know I was being a bit silly. But A better Smith opponent and a known prospect on the undercard, Camp Eddie would wave his wand and it would be PPV.....

Lord Rawling's commentary is awful.... Going on and on about what a good world champion Liam Smth is, and how difficult to beat Smith will be.

Everyone else just sees a Decent British level boxer.....

Kelly very adept at the rough stuff. His lack of experience really showed. He'll come again he can fight for a British title no doubt.

This year has had a bad one. I don't think the Brook v Gavin one was that bad, people go on about the main event but lets have it right, that had 3 WT fights as a co main event with two of the fights champions being bought over. I'm hoping next year that with Frampton v Quigg made and Khan v Brook hopefully close to being made that there won't be too much chaff.

Jimmy Kelly did well, fair play to him, boxed very well, just could have used his jab more and tried to take the centre of the ring, he gave it up a bit too easy and let Smith get inside without working. Ultimately I don't think he had the power to make Smith respect him and keep him off and when you are fighting at someone else's pace and they are dictating when every engagement occurs then it is knackering...

I see some things in him that are world class, in spurts his timing and shot selection is superb, footwork is good too, very good at cutting the ring off and pressuring his opponents, front foot is always at the centre of their stance. But he doesn't move his head enough at the moment and he's too open to the uppercut as he comes forward, against bigger punchers than Kelly that will be a worry. Right now I'd say he's somewhere between European and World level and if he's matched right, in time I think he'll develop into a genuinely world class fighter.
