Watched both Brook and Campbell replays this morning.

Brook did what was required. Can really only blame the IBF for having Bizier there in the first place. I still stand by comments in another thread though that Brook would have beat Bizier in the same way be the fight in Sheffield, London, a back lane or Brooklyn. Why not take this in America and let them get over-excited about it and give him some name recognition there?

They monetary gains would be a lot smaller, but it would -- I think anyway -- lead to him being able to pull the strings with the "names" of the division in late 2016 or 2017, and make a really big pay day with home advantage.

Campbell again did what was required. I've nothing against him personally, but I think we're seeing he's not as great as some might have hoped. I'd back most of the consensus world top 20 Lightweights over Campbell. Sykes never looked in it and it looked like age had beaten him as well as Campbell.

In an aside some of the cheerleading from Sky was atrocious. Notably on Campbell... "It's official, Luke Campbell is BACK!"... Yep, takes the Commonwealth title from an ageing, British, also-ran. I mean that with no disrespect to Sykes, but all the British top five and possible more would take him out at this point in time. to declare that as Campbell being ."..BACK!" is somewhat laughable.

EDIT: Also just watched Allen v Gavern now. F--k me, I know Gavern is barely a shade above club fighter, he's had an injury and took it on short notice, but what medication was he taking for the injury? On the looks of that 'performance' I'd guess it was a crate of Special Brew. Really quite ridiculous and feel a bit sorry for Allen having to put up with it all.

Give the Yanks some credit mate - they wouldn't get over-excited about watching Brook pulverise someone like Bizier, they'd slate the matchmaking just as much as we would.

But I agree with the general point. They could have tried to get Brook on the Ward card last night, at least it would have put him back in the spotlight in the US, and he could have called out Thurman etc in his post-fight interview (or GGG, if he's still feeling brave enough ).

I got to see the Brook fight, absolute garbage as we all knew it would be and then saw Eddie saying they will pull all the stops to get a great opponent over here for him. Garcia, Thurman etc ain't coming to the UK no way at all. Didn't see the undercard but people are saying it was a new low even for Sky so it must have been pish. I feel a bit sorry for Kell not sure what's going to happen inorder for him to get a big fight.

True, the US have slated it also. But I feel not as harshly. I doubt too many sat through Brook v Dan or Gavin, so it would kind of just be a "First Strike" for them, but at least they'd be talking.

I agree he'd be helped being over there. Call someone out, have someone call him out. It would build potential fights and bank for Brook.

Certainly achieve more than Sky asking "Kell, once again that was amazing. What is it that makes you just so brilliant?"

Calling out Thurman, Garcia et al means little several thousand miles away.
