Joe knew, did not look like Frank did though tbh. Anyone know if Godding/Kelly still on, not seen the weigh in video anywhere yet although other lesser fights are up there, is that off as well?

Yes it is on Kelly/Godding, must be Catchweight Kelly was 3lbs heavier I think at 11-3

Shame as I'm pretty sure he actually had 2 hours to make the weight. They would have check weighed before scales officially opened, realized he was over by quite a bit, tried to make it delaying the weigh in by 45 mins. This would then have given him 1hr 15mins to shed the last 1lb odd not 15 minutes as he thought. If I'm right it's a huge balls up by Warrens advisors and the BBBoC officials in charge.

Done it deliberately from the sounds of things. If one of Warren's fighters wins a world title it's an automatic 12 month extension, Gallagher's persuaded Smith to move over to Hearn and agreed a deal. Winning the belt would fornicate that up, so the plan is to win the fight, but not the belt, allowing his contract to run up.

That might explain the look W gave him.

I just read that on another forum. Dog move by Smith and team, don't think warren done bad with Smith to be fair. Was picking Smith to put on a dominant display, hope I'm wrong will be cheering Williams on to iron him out now

Isnt the winner gonna get a shot at Cotto for the Real title when Conelo vacates though? That must be worth a few quid.

Hmmm interesting

But if Callum smith loses to Dirrell I can not see smith brothers getting any decent fights again. What's Liam going to do without the WBO belt, even Hearn wouldn't "manufacture " a belt at 154.

Cant even use the WBA fake belt because Andrade has it. Gallagher already prevented Liam taking that.

For me the only reason Hearn has delivered for them is because he wants to keep them and Gallagher sweet in case Callum turns out decent. If Callum is exposed he has no incentive otherwise

Makes no sense for them to keep getting fights, they are not that good ( Stephen is the best one probably) and don't shift tickets.

Are you sure about that? Why would allegedly even put him in the fight in the first place if this was possible? Wasnt the belt not even up for grabs until a few weeks ago?

Hate to see things like this happen, especially in what appears such a good matchup.

Always felt weight issues such as this devalue a fight.

Some of you could be overthinking things a bit, though.

That's right. Smith took the fight in Spain a few weeks ago purely to make it for the World Title, so I don't think the fact he doesn't want to win one under FW holds much.

Something thats gone under the radar is that this is the lightest weight of Williams career. He's come in 100% prepared for this one

Would Smith be looking at a reduced purse for tonight`s fight now he`s not fighting for a title ?
Lots of possible permutations aren't there, thankfully it`s such a great match-up that all of the hearsay and conjecture is just a sub-plot

Doesn't he have to forfeit a percentage of his purse to Williams for not making weight?
