Far out!
That is way different from the Connor released clip I saw last week.
No wonder it was edited. He looked, well, awful!
And not staged as far as I could tell.
Floyd is going to coast until he knocks Connor out..
What will the MMA fans think when this fight unfolds, after paying $100 US to watch.
Those MMA PPV's are only $30 aren't they?

Mma ppvs are $65. UFC that is, bellator is $50 tonight for a real nice card. I still think the majority of buys will come from people that aren't particularly fans of boxing or mma.

I'm a bit confused on the cost of the fight in the UK , it's on BN ppv so as a BN subscriber is it part of the package or is it a separate £16 or what ever it is , does anyone know?

I wanna bet on FLoyd wins by UD, KO or TKO.
But I can't decide yet :S
UD if Conor can just keep his hands in front of his face and Floyd doesn't wanna hurt his hands..
But the other hand in every single video on youtube I see only that Conor can't defend himself. His hands are nowhere near to his face..
And he is also damn tired in their 2nd round.. So because of this there is a HUGE chance for a TKO.
But honestly I don't think Floyd is capable of a KO.
So is it going to be UD or TKO?

Hard to say, isn't it? It mostly depends on McGregor's game plan, but we have no way of knowing what that will be.

Floyd is more than capable of stopping him. To address a few points I've read:
'Floyd will carry him if it's a mismatch.' No he won't. Floyd will not care whatsoever if the fight is an absolute car crash, one-sided stinker. Once it starts, he's got his cash, and his only other priority is not getting beat. The financial scale of the fight justifies its existence; there is no need to pretend it should be competitive.
'It depends on McGregor's tactics.' Like what could they be? Trying to outbox him? He only has one possible tactic beyond hoping Floyd somehow injures himself, and that's walk out and try to chin him.
'Floyd can't stop him.' Of course he can - this is a guy making his debut. Floyd's not exactly got an impressive KO ratio, especially later in his career, but it's not like the likes of Maidana, Canelo, Mosley, Berto and Guerrero are known for being chinny. The shot that put away Ortiz is probably as close as we'll see to a comparison here given McGregor's dismal ability. At some point there is every chance the ref will step in even if Floyd isn't looking for massive punches.

Obviously aggression versus survival. Like you say, Mayweather's only priority is not to lose, so whether he wins by TKO, DSQ or UD depends on what McGregor does. Mayweather isn't one to chase a knockout.

Mayweather wins by referee stoppage in 8.
McGregor will be bloody and swollen. Eating jabs all night.

McGregor has no chance of winning at all. If he comes forward he will just get boxed around the ring. I think he is going to fight a boring fight and try to make Floyd come at him so he can possibly land left hand counters. If Floyd fights like he did vs southpaws like Corley, Judah and Mitchell he could walk McGregor down with a high guard and get him out of there easily.

The only reason this is 12 rounds is because of money. It's crazy.

He can do as he pleases in the fight and get McGregor out of there easily if he chooses pretty much at any point.

Make of it what you will, but Tony Jefferies says that he has watched McGregor spar and that he is a "high level" boxer.

Conor McGregor is a high-level boxer and will cause Floyd Mayweather some problems, says Tony Jeffries

The former Olympic boxer Tony Jeffries has insisted that Conor McGregor is a “high level boxer” after watching the Irishman in a sparring session with Chris Van Heerden.
Two-weight UFC world champion McGregor will make his professional boxing debut against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas on August 26, with the vast majority of pundits predicting a comfortable night for the 40-year-old.
Fears that the fight will prove uncompetitive grew when Van Heerden released video footage of his sparring session with McGregor.
The short clip – which quickly went viral – showed Van Heerden dominating McGregor, with the South African taking advantage of the MMA star’s clumsy footwork to land several clean shots.
McGregor’s performance in the video clip is so poor that Mayweather’s camp even speculated that the footage had been deliberated staged by the Irishman in an attempt to dupe his opponent into thinking he was a poorer boxer than what he actually is.
But Jeffries has said that the clip was not a fair reflection of the sparring sessions, which were actually far more level than the footage made out.
“I was there for the spar and have been there for many spars and they have been competitive, certainly not one way like everyone is making out,” Jeffries said in an interview on Sky Sports.
“People see McGregor take a punch and they jump on him. Van Heerden is a world class boxer though, always in great shape and McGregor gave him problems in there.
“If I came in and saw him sparring and never knew who McGregor was, I would think he was a high-level professional boxer, not a mixed martial artist or a novice boxer - I thought this guy can fight and box.”
Jeffries stopped short of predicting McGregor to win the contest, but said that his counter left-hand – recognised as the most dangerous shot in the UFC – will likely cause Mayweather some problems.
“The one thing that I was very impressed with when I saw him spar was his athleticism, his elusiveness and the way he comes back with that counter left hand,” he added.
“Even when not in training camp and at full fitness, he still has that potent weapon.
“I don't think he will beat Mayweather, I can't see that, but I think he's in there and it will be an entertaining fight.”

But even if McGregor was 'competitive' with Van Heerden (which I always read as polite way of saying 'had his moments, but lost') would anyone pick Van Heerden to lay a glove on Floyd?

I don't think that anyone would pick Van Heerden to beat Mayweather, and I don't think Jefferies is suggesting that McGregor will beat Mayweather. I took his comments to mean that he thinks that McGregor is a better boxer than people give him credit for. I can believe that.
I have no idea what McGregor is like as a pure boxer. I've only ever seen him strike within the context of an entirely different sport. So, if someone who knows boxing and has been around McGregor when he's been sparring says, "You know, this guy can can be an effective boxer" then I'm at least going to file that in he interesting column.

I think we need to be careful about going overboard with the 'entirely different sport' line. Someone good at darts has very few transferable skills if they decide they want to become a tennis player, but McGregor is still a world champion at a sport which involves throwing a lot of punches. I'd expect him to be more competent than average Joe.
McGregor, when he's stood up and throwing punches in the UFC, looks like a deeply average boxer. Against Floyd I have no doubts that he'll be absolutely humiliated.
