Just this year in the US when black baseball player Adam Jones was taunted with racial slurs by someone in the crowd it made NATIONAL HEADLINES, the guy who did it was banned from games and the Boston Red Sox publicly apologized to Jones. When stuff like that happens in Europe it's business as usual and hardly ever even makes the news.

not true for England, wouldn't be true for several other countries in NW Europe either[/quote]

I'm English but have lived in US also, USA has big big race problems compared to England. To paint a picture USA is doing well on that front in comparison to Europe is misleading imo

He did have trouble taking the shots, it was a big reason he lost.
At no point was he hurt to the body in the first fight.

What's the African American population in England and continental Europe compared to the United States??? ... That's your answer. A lot of Europeans aren't used to seeing black people every day, everywhere they go -- or seeing a large percentage of their major sports stars, politicians, and actors having a largely African ancestry... What makes headlines are the few idiots who still can't accept an integrated society and think somehow times are going to regress.

Fair point, London is about the most multi cultural city imo. most the big cities in England are multi cultural tbh. Afro carribean guys, Asians (Indian, Pakistan, bangla), oriental, lots from Hong Kong, somalians, Eastern Europeans, etc

So it's not heavy solely on black guys, but there's a real mix

FTR our main sport, football, has probably the most widely recognised sports league worldwide. The mix of nationalities in the premiership is more than anything else you'll see

Believe it or not, but racism is pretty weak on Balkan. There are a lot of black sportsmen, who are/were very, very beloved - Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Joshua(ok, Mayweather is well known, but he is not beloved).....Pele is still a football king, Bolt is extremely popular, too....
Should I mention actors, musicians.....etc...etc....

I think you guys are bit too much pro-Kovalev.

But you guys are pro-Abel Sanchez (GGG),
and he basically called Kovalev a dick.

Similar to an ex-Floyd employee airing dirty laundry,
I wouldn't give a F. Assholes get asshole exits.

But it's Kovalev!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But was never once hurt in the first fight and Ward never had that power at 168 or 175.

Where was Ward's power prior to the rematch with Kovalev?

Krushedner got worn out by SOGgy in the first fight. To his credit, the Russian showed far more heart in that fight when it looked like he may get ground out of it.

SOGgy does not have top end ko power but that does not mean that he cannot hurt people in there.

you seem to have a twisted perception
of what racism means. it is the everyday
things that count, not the admiration of
celebrities.

first time i hear a trainer considering
jumping ship during camp. the only
other similar thing i remember is when
floyd senior was training oscar. but they
had the decency to clear that beforehand,
at least that is how i recall it.

weird.

I've came across a statistic about one third of all under 18 black teenagers being/having been in prison in America.

Reading the Rakim statement above, is there any wonder why ?

There are so many bad things on Balkan, but, here, there are more vegans than racists.

This thread should be locked, because the discussions have veered well away from the original topic and the comments are not related to the sport of boxing.

It should be locked, because it aggravates EO's OCD.

What does the locking of the thread have to with boxing? It sounds like he's blaming himself. I agree, this thread should be locked due to fergus' inability to stay on topic.

EO staying on topic is even worse, as it means 1000-line posts which nobody reads. I suggest just locking all threads started by fergus for his own mental sake.
