I was just using that poster's logic against themselves. It wasn't even my logic to begin with. Since they were arguing how stopping a bunch of low level heavyweights who were supposedly never stopped before, was supposed to be such an impressive feat.

Either way, Wladimir Klitschko was a dominant champion. Him being previously defeated isn't the same as another contender level fighter being previously defeated. Povetkin's best wins are against a bunch of opponents who were previously already exposed (by being defeated by somebody else before they faced Povetkin), and against guys who were already on the slide in the rankings. That's Povetkin's career in a nutshell!

Why were the likes of Bermane Stiverne, Charles Martin and Joseph Parker able to become titlists, without having to face Alexander Povetkin first? Why were they able to become titlists, whilst Povetkin couldn't? Assuming Povetkin was supposed to be such a high level heavyweight? these are all valid and reasonable questions.

It's 'ARGUABLE' that the David Haye from the Dereck Chisora fight would've done to Povetkin, what he did to Chisora.

However, David Haye's lack of fights at heavyweight is the biggest question mark against him. Otherwise, he is the far more talented athlete than Povetkin.

Povetkin no doubt has the better 'resume' on paper, but his resume is mainly better because it's manufactured and cherry picked. Due to fighting multiple opponents sliding down the rankings when he fought them. And fighting opponents that were previously already exposed by someone else.

So Povetkin's record / resume deceptively looks good. But if Chisora were to do what Povetkin had been doing all along, he'd have an equally good record / resume. But instead, Chisora had the guts to face more elite opponents in fewer fights.

Povetkin's only elite opponents are Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko. What happened against both of them? He got embarrassed and humiliated. Made to look like a fake heavyweight who didn't even belong in the same ring against either of them.

Povetkin's record means NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, and can NEVER be considered much, if at all better than Chisora's, unless he beats an elite opponent like Anthony Joshua at least once. Otherwise, he is of the same level as the likes of Dereck Chisora and Bermane Stiverne. Even if he may appear to be better on paper deceptively.

I read that aswell. I don't see him facing any of the Matchroom stable, maybe Chisora if any though. But if Whyte isn't going to face Ortiz in December then surely Hearn has to make the offer for Povetkin/Ortiz.
