Does this fight do more buys Groves vs. CEJ?

I would love to know how many buys that does definately got to be ITV’s most successful PPV.
I vote no.
Degale is hard to like yet doesn’t play the villain at all well,. While CEJ went from potential superstar to raw-strongman in just 12 rounds with GG.

Still a really good fight tho’
Its close to 50/50 and two big names. Most picking CEJ but if Degale is up to 90% of his peak - and I guess he will be - I think he’ll win a ‘close but clear’ type decision. CEJ reminds me a bit of King Arthur - an unstoppable beast at MW, nothing special at SMW.

I’m doubling up my pick on £16.95 PPV price..

Eubanks points or late stoppage. Degale sits on the ropes too much which plays right into Eubanks game.

Me too, I'm looking forward to it. Not sure DeGale has enough left in the tank to outbox Eubank over 12 rounds. Putting aside all the talk, DeGale had life and death with Truaux last year and then vacated instead of facing his mandatory. Not things a prime DeGale would have done. I think Eubank might be in the right place at the right time with this one.

The O2 website is showing basically the whole arena available apart from ringside.

James DeGale vs Chris Eubank Jr will cost £19.95 on ITV Box Office pay-per-view. Buyers will also get Anthony Dirrell vs Avni Yildirim (vacant WBC super-middleweight title) later that night.

Cost of an AJ PPV.

Even hardcore fans won’t pay for this. Just a few casuals.

No you wouldn't, if you were going to pay for it you would pay £15 or £20 regardless.

I buy most PPVs but I won't get this one and I won't steal it to watch it, I just don't care about it. I might have watched it if it was on regular TV but might not have bothered even then.

I’ll watch it if someone proactively PMs me a link to a good stream  I won’t even bother trying to find one myself.

Hopefully ITV have got their act together with their box office software anyway; 20 quid is a bit rich considering half the people who buy ITV PPVs have only been able to see a blue screen.

Remember when DeGale fought Groves, and he forgot Groves was undefeated as well? He did a little dance thinking he'd won, before the name George Groves was announced.

Degale unfairly lost to Groves for me, but probably should have lost to Badou Jack. He’s taken beatings over the years, his decline has been pretty rapid because of his style, he’s slick but switches off and let’s people bully him. Jack fight was tough to watch, especially that last round.

He’s a fukkin’ mug as well, terrible personality. Half expect him to come to the ring with Tyan Booth & Katie Hopkins, he’s that unlikeable.

Same for Jnr tbh, except I can tolerate listening to Eubank. He’s soft spoken and seems to know his stuff at times. I hope for his sake he’s learning now with a trainer in his corner. He’s not gonna change dramatically because he’s got the worst jab in British boxing, but he doesn’t even need a jab to beat Degale.

Think it’ll be Eubank that wins.

Everyone does realise there is a decent show the same night on BT sport don’t they? If the Degale Eubank fight didn’t clash with any other live tv shows I’d buy it, but I’ll be saving my £19.95 and watching the BT show, Bowen - Clark, Yarde - Amar, Nathan Gorman, Tommy Fury, Lyon Woodstock, not a bad card.

The battle to decide which fighter is more shot.

Will Eubank's workrate that's proven to be inefficient against every proper boxer he's ever fought be enough to defeat DeGale who will be asleep for a quarter of the fight? Or are Eubank Jr. and team so far up their own backside, that even a injury-worn guy who donates four rounds a fight to them still beat them convincingly?

Degale not as good as he used to be. Eubank Jr. never especially great in the first place...it's an interesting matchup. It would seem that Eubank would have more in the tank to get it done, but Degale certainly is capable of showing more craft and skill than Eubank Jr. ever did.

I doubt he'd be able to do it in long enough stretches here to get the win.

I'm thinking Eubank either stops him late or wins a decision.
