great shout, that was on BBC too. Enzo was only 19 iirc, watched it as Lee was well known as a kickboxer before boxing. He did ok at Cruiser and fought for the British title but fully went into journeyman mode at HW, although he did get a win in one of the Prizefighter tournaments.
Yeah it was. Looked like someone had taken a knife to Hide’s eyebrow.dookus wrote: ↑31 Dec 2024, 05:10I think this was another accidental headbutt TKO. Why the hell didn't they change that rule decades beforejameswilson wrote: ↑31 Dec 2024, 04:34Had that not happened then Herbie Hide vs Danny Williams would have happened for the European Union title.
I do wonder what Hide is up to these days - is he still involved in the sport? I always found it funny he was from Norwich (via Nigeria I know) just cos of the Alan Partridge thing. I'd love to know what Hide though of the pedestrianisation of Norwich City Centre.jameswilson wrote: ↑31 Dec 2024, 11:37Yeah it was. I always laugh when I hear Herbie Hide’s name because I remember that famous rolling on the floor moment with Michael Bentt and the first time I saw the footage it had the initial face off for the cameras and it had sound and you could hear the chat between them both. Hide while they were staring each other down said ‘if you were as good as you looked Michael, you’d be knocking Tyson out, but your not.’
For some reason I’ve always found that line hilarious, I don’t know why.
I don't know about Hide, but his son Harrison is very switched-on and is the co-founder of what I believe is going to be an incredible wellness project called Long Lane.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑31 Dec 2024, 13:05I do wonder what Hide is up to these days - is he still involved in the sport? Thanks for sharing that enjoyed reading that. I bet it is so much more personally rewarding focusing on wellbeing than financial markets!JamesPhilips wrote: ↑02 Jan 2025, 11:20https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/23 ... h-norwich/SeanBrennan wrote: ↑01 Jan 2025, 11:51that's interesting Deserter, thanks for sharing. Wow. Interesting the guy was a trader on Wall Street too.
And less tough than boxing! Which unlike many sons of fighters Harrison didn’t get tempted by!SeanBrennan wrote: ↑02 Jan 2025, 16:21Thanks for sharing that enjoyed reading that.
