Definitely a Lennox Lewis v Gary Mason flavour to this. We’d hope Joyce doesn’t ship so much punishment in this fight that it ends his career.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - 18 April 2020
I can see Dubois coming out strong from the start. He'll catch Joyce several times and may even score an early knockdown. However come the second half of the fight, Dubois will tire and inexperience may be a factor as Dubois is unable to adapt. He's given Joyce his best shots, but is unable to stop Joyce from coming forward with his relentless style. Joyce outworks Dubois for the 2nd half of the fight, as Dubois becomes more and more disillusioned. Joyce nips a points decision, or a referee stoppage in the final couple of rounds.

Hearn would have done it as PPV 100 %rhino222 wrote: ↑07 Feb 2020, 07:38 It's a good fight because its split opinion down the middle, its a 50/50 dust up
As a fan we cant ask for more than that.
It's not PPV standard so it needs a very good undercard. I'm not in UK so am lucky enough not to have to pay for PPVs but nevertheless, its a big ask for the casual fan.
PPVs should be for big world title fights. This a big domestic dust up with world top 10 doors being opened for the winner.
he may come out and say otherwise to annoy Warren but he would have done the same

Good on Duboius for taking it, not many have been after a piece of Joe.

Great news. Dubois needs to box carefully here. He’ll be landing at will but he can’t be going for it too much, I just get the impression Joyce has a cinderblock jaw. Energy needs to be conserved.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - 18 April 2020
Great fight, it shouldn't be on PPV though.
Neither as "well known" as DeGale was at the time of the Groves fight (remember that was originally scheduled to be a co headline and not a headline) - Sorry Joe, but the colour of the medal is important to the lay fans.
I don't really blame Warren, his output is pretty poor the only geniune PPV star he has is Fury (and he doesn't get the full slice there) - PPV is what helps him make his money to get other shows so how else will he do it. I only hope like Groves, if Dubois wins his next few fights will be on non PPV if its a building fight. He's no where near a PPV star yet. I only hope that if this does well FW sees that it was the fight and not the fighters (if you know what I mean). You need to build a PPV star.
There were complaints about Joshua vs White being PPV with good reason, but that was a geniune star a very well known Olympic Gold Medalist against a guy where there was a geniune rivalry and White had that amateur fight. Joshua's other fights against name fighters coming through were not on PPV.

Pefect timing, FW has made it at the perfect time.
Joyce has been out of the ring for a solid 8-9 months which is long time.
Probably will be mentioned but Dubois starting early and catching Joyce cold looks like the outcome

Good fight. Not PPV worthy but I've got a lot more interest in this fight than I had when Whyte Vs Parker was put on PPV
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - 18 April 2020
So, it's finally on, great news! A fight for the title of the best prospect. Although the winner can be a called a legit top-10 fighter, not a prospect anymore.

Interesting early odds.
Dubois stoppage looks a little stingy at 4/6. Could be some value in Dubois points at 7/2.
Joyce decision 4/1
Joyce by stoppage is 8/1...

Great news. Strangely enough, i'd rather pay for this than AJ v Pulev...
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - 18 April 2020
Plus you can't beat a good domestic heavyweight tear up. Especially with two talented and undefeated guys.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - 18 April 2020
Right, make my mind up time...Joyce 10-12

Joyce will do well to make it out of this one on two legs

Dub batters him
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Daniel Dubois - 18 April 2020
Don't think he will , Joyce would be a tough night for any of the heavies under the top level boys .
If Dubois doesn't have a good chin Joyce will take this .
The experience lies with the juggernaut .

Getting both on GMB on terrestrial TV is a great move but trying to play both men as media friendly types is the wrong move, Joshua was able to do that stuff no sweat but they should be trying to push both men as silent cold blooded machines like Mike Tyson although mainly Dubois as his building process will be longer, Dubois reminds me a bit like Joe Louis actually, they shouldn't try mould him into something he's not, he's seems nice kid, that'll do

I am a bit surprised and disappointed with the odds. I was not expecting Dub to be such a big favourite even though I think he wins big, there are still a lot of knowledgeable boxing people who think JJ's experience and engine can make the difference.
