Pretty dumb stuff man. You certainly judged Blowe, calling him a liar.
If it's so "dumb", why don't you quote my words where I supposedly said that "size is the only thing that matters"?
I've never said that and it doesn't represent my thoughts.
And it is "pretty dumb" to hold me accountable for other people's lies, because that's precisely what they are.
Man seriously...get help.
We have an actual interesting topic and like always it is turned into a pissing contest.
Another thread ruined by our own fact checker.
He is not worth arguing with.

I think what Joshua said is nearly total bullcrap. If that is true about sports science and technology making boxers significantly better than the '80s-'90s, then Joshua is inferring that Tyson would lose to Joshua today even if Tyson was in his prime today. With all the GMO food in the world now, I would say athletes today would be worse unless they were eating all non-GMO/organic food. Some boxers took their training to another level in the '80s-'90s. Evander Holyfield is one example. He was a cruiserweight and became one of the best heavyweight champions.
It's easier to compare athletes in sports that can be measured such as running. Times have improved, but there were good runners in the '80s that could compete with runners today. I was a track and cross-country runner in high school and even my best times 30 years ago are better than some of the runners currently on college teams. If I would have known about yoga, I would have done that, but the different types of training I did 30 years ago is still being done. The only reason that Tyson couldn't beat Joshua today is because of age. Otherwise, he would suffer the same fate as Frank Bruno when he fought Tyson.

Actually just been bored with the same arguments on here. I read nearly every thread but they all seem to be argued out.
I ain't left just can not seem to get excited about too much

have to agree with AJ
Tyson got crushed by Lennox Lewis who is probably the best example of just how big and strong todays fighters are .

Ok, so therefore, Lennox Lewis would get crushed by Joshua since Lewis is not one of today's fighters. Genetics is the most important factor as to whether someone becomes a world-class athlete or not. The athletes today and yesterday train hard, but what separates the best from the above average to average is genetics. That's why Michael Jordan and LeBron James are among the best basketball players of all time. Everyone in the NBA trains and works hard. It's the same thing with other sports such as running. The runners who have the best genetics are the best runners. Tyson had the genetics. He also needed to train hard and have good guidance, but he had God-given ability when he was young.

What is modern sports sciene and methods anyway. Those funny looking rope things dudes always look like utter fannies pulling? the whole hit the giant tire with a hammer stuff?
It's one thing when comparing to past hws who were really the size of lhws today or even smaller (for example the 5'7 160ish pound tiny midget Tommy Burns was hw champ), but dudes over last several decades havent been that small. smaller on the whole , ya, but not like tiny smol. remember guys like vander and tyson were pretty ripped too, i'm sure they could inflate themselves with 20 more pounds and still not be that tubby
there defo is an emphasis on being big and strong today. size and strength make a difference, and obviously the closer you get in ability the more of a fight changer it is. but the hw greats also looked a hell of a lot more natural, comfortable, and fluid in the ring

I think you mean the heavy rope training with usually two ropes that they move up and down to form waves. Yeah, that stuff wasn't around in the '80s. I agree there is much more of a difference in size and strength when comparing boxers from 100 years ago to today as opposed to the '80s to today.

This here also summarizes my thoughts on the topic.
Comparing fighters who fought 80 plus years ago who would be middleweight or at the most super middleweight with the 24 hour weigh ins today. Compare to our super heavyweights of today is crazy.
But the fighters of the 70s and 80s are not giving up as much hight and reach as some are leading us to believe.

whatever comedy there may be is lost on me now I'm afraid. there's only so many shrill, screeching attempts at self-justification I can listen to, when they're that far off-base. let's face it, dudes continually precipitating situations then crying 'persecution' is pretty nauseating to start off with, add to that the constant stroking of his own ego, the (intentional or unintentional)misreadings of other people's arguments and logical fallacies, the argumentative tunnel-vision, the colossal arrogance, the misplaced tone of victory, I could keep going- by now it's just a dude who (let's face it) already had enough issues, talking himself ever-deeper into his very own little narcissistic echo-chamber (I mean, you just know he re-lives his internet victories for, like,
hours even when he's offline, right? I mean, he's every now and then starting out of his chair with a little 'eureka!' moment, 'here's how i will vanquish my latest online foe,
I will prevail once more etc'). It's not unlike henry actually, in the sense that the more opposition and abuse he gets, the more he evolves into a mindset where this actually somehow proves
just how right he is and it negatively reinforces his already-warped self-perception. yeah, I'm pretty much at the same point as I was with Henry, like, vaguely sympathetic to his mental health plight, but then the dude just acts like way too much of a dick to actually care. i certainly don't want to lower myself wasting time in 'discussion' with a brick wall.

The slim possibility that EO was once a sincere poster but is now trolling everyone after realising how much people take the bait, and finding it all hilarious, makes me chuckle.

Uh, AJ, it's not that.
It's that Tyson is in his 50s and has been smoking as much pot as Bob Dylan. Conducive to lyrics writing, to fighting? Not as much.
