I think that boast lost any value over a decade ago, and I fail to see how any fighter can take pride in beating up Williams now.
Back in 2019 he was knocked out in seconds by the fairly unremarkable Kristaps Zutis (the 'fight' is on YT if you want to watch it, but it's pretty unedifying so I'd advise against it) but in fairness to Zutis he later conceded he was less than 'proud' of his win.

An aspect that makes it even sadder for me is that he's now in tremendous shape for his age. Mental health's such a huge part of boxing, and seemed to deny him a world-class prime.

Is he just diving? I know a few ex pros not anywhere near Dannys level who are still a real handful. Danny looks like he’s forgotten how to fight.

As well as having practically zero punch resistance these days you can see in the Miles fight above that his balance, timing and coordination are all absolutely terrible.
A few years back Lukas Konecky and another couple of Czech promoters were using Danny as the 'home' fighter bringing in utterly dire opposition in an attempt to get him a few easy wins, and he actually managed a decent run(only interrupted when he ventured to Germany and lost on cuts to Sidon)
But this is one of his wins (one of two) over the redoubtable Pavel Siska 6 - 59 - 1 (50 stoppage losses)
Danny is clearly trying his best to flatten the bloke here really loading up on his shots, but just like the Miles encounter, his dreadful balance etc means there's bugger all on his shots when they (rarely) land.

Mickey with respect to your mates, I doubt any of them ever took beatings comparable to the ones Danny endured in the first couple of rounds against Tyson or the entire eight rounds against Vitali (Jim McDonnell should have been shot for that obscenity)

Another alarming performance came against the then 3 - 4 Frantisek Kynkal who is easily one of the worst fighters I've ever seen (he also tends to capitulate rather easily when under pressure)
This was another fight on a Konecky bill where Danny was the 'home' fighter.
This is a clip from the first round (the full fight is no longer on YT) which was pretty much the pattern for the whole fight.
It just shows how far Danny's regressed when a fat useless pudding like that can cuff and slap him around.

Last one (promise) these are probably the last two half decent performances he turned in, despite them both being defeats (the first is very debatable)
Interesting Facts:
A scant thirteen days after the draining encounter a still clearly exhausted Williams lost an eight round decision to Werner Kreiskott 12 - 19 - 1 (once done in a round by Michael Sprott) in Cologne.
Maskaev supposedly had a 'big fight' lined up in the States after the Williams fight, but after suffering several broken ribs in a much harder fight than anticipated he never fought again.

Danny won the 'prestigious' GBF World title in that Martin Stensky fight...

I never noticed it was a twelve rounder, which was highly optimistic given Stensky's record and Williams previous one round win over him.
