I previously performed a deep analysis of the potential new weight class based on Tony Bellew’s recommendations about it having a 220lbs limit, since he was working the WBC on this matter.
So I simply recited the stats I’d already gathered. And it's clear that 4lbs doesn’t significantly affect the obvious interpretation of the numbers.
Nah. It just pisses on the legacy of the Heavyweight Championship.

I don’t think it’ll affect the heavyweight division in any way.
The vast majority of today’s heavyweights will make no effort to lose 20lbs+ or so.
And it’s not as if the new weight class has a similar name that could easily confuse fans.
I think you're blowing the issue out of proportion.
If fans agree that the new weight class is a bad idea, then won't pay attention to it. They'll refuse to watch the fights.

Given water weight dropping a better metric than using 220 for some reason would be 235 since those fighters could easily compete at 225 drying out the night before.
2010 to present
Then you get
Chagaev 2 regular defenses
Wilder 10 title defenses
Haye over harrison and ruiz
Povetkin 4 regular defenses
The 3 best fighter since 2010 were bigger: wlad, vitali, fury. But wlad lost to Brewster and vitali lost to byrd. Fury was put on his butt by Cunningham
4 of the current top 10 hw are under 230

Within the last two decades, 158 world heavyweight title fights have been fought (according to BoxRec). And your list only represents a small percentage of the overall figures.
The novice iteration of Fury was the only fighter to ever stop Cunningham.
Vitali was ahead on the scorecards prior to his loss through injury to Byrd.
Wladimir avenged his loss to Brewster, which had occurred before Klitschko's prime.
Even if there are four heavyweights that could theoretically dehydrate to make the official 224lbs limit for the new weight class, none of them will bother to do so if it results in a big reduction in their purses.
Citing a few exceptions doesn't mean you've successfully undermined the general rule.
And that is the difference between actual critical thinking and reciting a number!

I understand this is a sensitive subject matter you deeply care about, but don’t you think you’re overreacting?
The only thing I'm guilty of is citing statistical facts.

You're talking about a clown who just said wlad wasn't prime when he lost to brewster but made no mention of lamons state for the "avenged" rematch. Astonishing that anyone talks to him at all other than to wind up the puppet.

Some things are so ridiculously dumb that you can’t believe a sentient human came up with it.
A sentient human didn't. Sulaiman and Bellow did.

The market rules, eh?
Everything slowly becoming a business, determined by contract. Not to mention corruption, fraud, chicanery and behind the scenes horse trading, 24/7 propaganda aimed at the confused masses.
All praying to the only religion that counts, Mammon.
Boxing, like virtually every other major sport is merely a way of moving money around. Any genuine sporting element has gradually been eviscerated. I could be wrong, but the turning point might have been the Olympic Games of 1984 in Los Angeles.
Boxing today is a business like any other. Various parties invest large sums hoping to reap larger returns. Fair enough, if the sporting element remained untouched. Alas, it doesn't.
Perhaps in boxing the seeds were shown even earlier. The unnecessary forming of the WBC back in 63 led to a schism that under the father son leadership of Jose and Mauricio has bought the sport to ever greater shame.
The WBO, IBF, IBO, and IBA etc etc are all also doing their best to make things worse.
In the end the consumer has a choice, either walk away or do as they are done unto. With that in mind, I intend to keep my hands on my money and watch my future boxing on YouTube etc.
Right now it will take something very special to make me part with another penny for this racket.

Spot on
The 1984 Olympics and the early 1970s baseball strikes are good examples. I'm sure there are others.
We understand people are there to make money, but the greed is through the roof. The irony is boxing would make more money if they respected the fans. This move is a slap in the face to any real fan. Anyone not offended by this simply doesn't know what's going on.

Yup, they're way overpaid. Not the boxers fault, but that's what killed the sport in the States. Who wants a 50/50 fight for the same money as 2 layups?
