There's only real security around ringside. The rest is stewards. The MEN can be like the wild west at times. One minute they're looking after Take That fans, the next shift, thousands of pissed up rough men. Last night was Arthur fans, apparently. Pat did say at the press conference "security can't handle this sh!t. I've got an army on speed dial".

Last night showed how much Yarde was impacted (understandably) by the bereavements prior to the first fight. It was obvious at the time and last night proved it. As much as I wanted Lyndon to win it was a very easy fight to predict and I was surprised how many of you picked Arthur.

I think the first fight was just down to Yarde messing about in the fight and not fighting with urgency when he should have. He has come through doing what he wanted to limited opponents. He could have stopped Arthur in the first fight but he fought a terrible fight. I don't blame it on bereavements, I think it was just a lack of intellect there. He learned from it and fought better this time, fought the fight he should have fought. It sounds like they worked on his cardio and he was more confident in it. Arthur is very limited and we've seen him struggle and be hurt in a few fights. I would still have reservations about taking Yarde vs Richards or another mover with a jab (no chance vs Bivol) but the Callum Johnson or Joe Smith fights are good stylistically.

Yarde and his team won't publicly blame it on the bereavements either. They (incorrectly) think it might show weakness. truth is he was, rightly, devastated and barely went through the motions in training in the run up to the first fight.

Callum Johnson would beat him in my opinion if he fights like that. He can really bang.

Collyhurst and Moston have always struggled at a certain level by being a clean gym. There are a couple of exceptions from over the years but overwhelmingly there's no doping and the reason many of their lads fall short.

Even with his lifestyle, had Michael Gomez doped he'd have been true world class.

Robbie Reid, Gomez, Jennings, MacDonaugh, Daz Rhodes, Pat Barrett, I could go on. They've never struggled. Maybe a transitional period when Brian retired.

You have missed my point but I'll get sued if I have to spell it out for you with examples of where 4/5 of those have suffered in their careers as a result of my general point.

Arthur was so bad that inadvertently it devalues Yarde’s win. In hindsight, the clue was there in R12 of the first fight - as soon as Yarde upped the tempo Arthur couldn’t deal with the heat.

It was disappointing to see how devoid of emotion Lyndon was afterwards, even despite him being a low-key kind of guy. He seemed more relieved it was over than gutted he’d lost.

No need for a rubber match.
