Here's a link to the
lawsuit documentation filed by Terence Crawford's attorneys.
Having access to this information should prevent people from guessing or making assumptions about the nature of the case and how it is being funded.
Section III. B. details Crawford’s allegations of
“Top Rank’s Disparate Treatment of Black Boxers and Arum’s Racist Remarks” makes for interesting reading.
In my humble opinion, the allegations contained within that section of the complaint are laughably weak!

Federal laws apply to everyone in the United States. State and local laws apply to people who live or work in a particular state, commonwealth, territory, county, city, municipality, town, township or village.

Boxing Scene explained the following:
Top Rank sought to instead have the case heard in federal court, a common practice by defendants in a civil complaint since state court-heard cases tend to have less wait time before advancing the trial.
Federal court also carries stricter rules and would have likely resulted in a more expensive legal battle for Crawford.
The court’s decision to reject Top Rank’s request to move the case to federal court doesn’t necessarily mean that Terence Crawford’s lawsuit will be successful, especially when you consider the actual reasoning for the attempted legal manoeuvre.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about his lawsuit vs Top Rank. He made his bed re-signing, etc.
