Crikey. $1.5m less than the original winning bid. I can’t see Andrade taking it now. Ryder would be next in-line.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑22 Sep 2022, 11:30 The only bid, which was the winning bid was $305k.
They were already looking at the fight. Surprised they didn't ask to postpone the bid.
I guess this way, now Andrade can back out..

The terms of the rescheduled purse bid called for a 60/40 split in Andrade’s favor “if the fight is held in the country of origin, residence, or nationality of one of the contenders,” per Section 13 (2)(b) of WBO rules. It still only leaves Andrade with a payday of just $183,000, though not uncommon for a side deal to be worked out under such circumstances to further entice participants to move forward with the fight.

Re: Demetrius Andrade vs. Zach Parker - 5 November 2022
Queensberry won the purse bid with an unopposed offer of $305K, with the WBO’s minimum purse bid stipulated at $300K.
No other promoter, nor TV network, were interested in the bout.
No promoter, nor TV network, would even consider pitting the eventual victor of this bout against Canelo.
Therefore, Demetrius Andrade’s ducking of Zhanibek Alimkhanuly not only cost him his WBO world middleweight title, but he’s also had to accept an enormous pay cut!!!
I’ll fûckîng pïśś myself with laughter if Zach Parker beats Demetrius Andrade in November!
But I strongly suspect that Demetrius Andrade will refuse to face Zach Parker for such a tiny purse, even though he’s out of options.

You mean the Parker-Andrade fight?
If Andrade if gonna pull out, he may as well do it sooner rather than later.

Yeah - I can’t see Andrade coming over for the money from the purse bid. Perhaps Queensbury will up their offer though to try and make it happen.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑25 Sep 2022, 05:34You mean the Parker-Andrade fight?

I dont think he can afford to not take the fight. If he takes it he should win. if he wins, he can get relevent fights (mabey even a canelo fight one day...).maverick23 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2022, 06:24Yeah - I can’t see Andrade coming over for the money from the purse bid. IF he turns this down he is beltless, with about 4 fans, and a fair bit of risk, in a divison where noone wants to take risk cause there all lurking for canelo... basicaly if he turns this down he may as well retire.

He is promoter-less, network-less and doesn’t have a huge following.
His DAXN Contract was good for him as it probably set him up for life.. he’s made his money. He could retire..

Demetrius Andrade has mismanaged his own career and will inevitably end up fighting a journeyman next.

And Queensberry probably had some legal obligation to Zach Parker to submit a bid, so they bid low without caring whether they lost or not.
It was a win-win situation for Zach Parker's promoter.
Boo Boo definitely knew he would have taken a huge pay cut from his Matchroom days, but he probably didn't expect it to be so severe and also be completely unwanted by any promoter or network in the US.
This is the end for Demetrius Andrade. He'll continue fighting, but he won't receive any opportunities to engage in marquee bouts.
If Andrade walks away from the Parker fight, which now seems inevitable, then he'll be voluntarily sacrificing his WBO mandatory challenger status, meaning that none of the champs at 160lbs or 168lbs would need to consider facing him.
He has nothing to offer any fighter (i.e. he doesn't provide the opportunity to win a title and nor will he provide a decent payday).

Yep. Ryder is more proven whilst Parker has (had is probably more accurate given his inactivity this year) more momentum.

Re: Demetrius Andrade vs. Zach Parker - OFF
Andrade has dropped out.
“I never bad mouth any fighter. I very rarely speak but this is not right and I feel my career bas been badly stalled,” Parker told Boxing Scene. “I’m very lucky to have Frank W, (manager) Neil Marsh and Black Country Boxing behind me because I’m ready to go. This won’t prevent me from getting where I’m going.
“Demetrius Andrade knew he would get knocked clean out and he was the perfect fight for progress to become world champion. I look forward to fighting in November and delivering a big performance for all my fans and team.”
The WBO has not yet confirmed next steps for Parker.

He’s a good fighter and could have been in some really good fights. He benefitted financially from Eddie thinking he could make good fighters into stars in the US like he had in the U.K. and that clearly wasn’t the case and he couldn’t deliver a meaningful fight.stevec@france wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022, 14:03 wankstain andrade hasnt ever fought anyone at the top level .

I hope he sees sense and takes a hit on his pay check to get a meaningful fight which, if he wins, would take him to the next level.
