Yeah, Linares was faded. Still big lips wasn't looking stellar against him. Of course, prospects are to develop, so against Kambo he can be better. Yet I feel some vulnerability in him, while Kambo is a one tough mofo for sure. I guess, George will score a KO.
I am appalled at your childish racism towards Haney. WTF is wrong with you dude? Not the first time. Maybe I was just raised differently than you. People can't help what their skin color is, facial features, etc. Apologies if you were referring to your wife or mom. Grow up or get TF out.
Calling this racism is a sign of imbecility.

- "Whiteboy" Haney fired the first shot across the regrettable racial divide of grade school promotions years back that dominate the dwindling market value of boxing. Him flapping about his WBC Participation belt alone would power a dingy from the NY harbor on a calm seas and prosperous voyage day to London in record time.

Kam and Teo have the best scalps that dwarf what Haney's done in the ring, and with Kam taking the grueling 4 yrs on the road and just off ruining Teo perhaps for life, short of the usual officiating obscenities the Kam style guarantees take it to him hard, but will stinker Haney reciprocate to show us something he's never shown before?

Interesting that Hearn gave Haney to Arum who doubtless used his substantial State Contacts to get Daddy over to Oz just in time. Was that ppphhfffttt the relief let out of the Haney balloon?

Haney also a "Big Guy" at the weight like Teo may have overstayed his division, so it's scrawnier Kam for me who looks like the type to retire soon on an undefeated record as the toast of Australia.

Asian classic FOY Inoue vs Donaire rematch of two Tigers a few days later the one to go toe to toe on. Inoue for me, but God Bless Donaire, p4p HOFer.

Higgins looking a good 5kg bigger than Nickolas here, and it's showing with his punches.

And we have the first, and hopefully only, robbery of the night. I had Higgins 59-55 there. Fmd!

A bout was frustrating. It was high level skill-wise, but it badly lacked intensity. Kambo's effort was poor and he got outtapped.

Lucas Browne brutally upsetting Fa was fun.

It's a shame that we have these rematch clauses so frequently these days.

I'd love to see Haney V Tank next, rather than a rematch.

Kambosos didn't really do enough to warrant an immediate rematch and he's not a big enough star to demand one like Canelo.

135 is really bubbling up nicely.

Yes, very true.

I hope these guys start fighting each other and without endless rematch clauses too.

There are some mouthwatering matchups that can be made at 135.

Yeh. Boxers just aren’t willing to fight others multiple times unless they’re forced to (rematch clause)..

Back in the day, we had boxers fighting trilogy’s for the fun of it. Even if it was 2-3 years apart. Nothing wrong with that.

Haney-Kambosos Averaged 1,322,000 Viewers, Peaked At 1,355,000 On ESPN

Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr. didn’t exactly produce 12 scintillating rounds of action, but they did deliver the viewing audience ESPN executives sought from their lightweight title unification fight.

Nielsen Media Research revealed Tuesday that their 12-round main event attracted an average audience of 1,322,000 and a peak audience of 1,351,000. Haney, who won a unanimous decision, and Kambosos boxed on Sunday afternoon at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, but their bout aired live Saturday night in the United States.

Nielsen’s numbers include only viewers who watched Haney-Kambosos on ESPN’s English-language linear channel, not those who saw it on ESPN Deportes or ESPN+, the network’s streaming service. Viewership of Haney-Kambosos was lower but comparable to the audience that watched the Shakur Stevenson-Oscar Valdez junior lightweight championship match April 30 on ESPN.

Stevenson’s 12-round, unanimous-decision defeat of Valdez drew an average of 1,353,000 viewers and peaked at 1,440,000 viewers. Stevenson (18-0, 9 KOs), a southpaw from Newark, New Jersey, easily out-boxed Valdez (30-1, 23 KOs) to defend his WBO junior lightweight title and won the WBC super featherweight championship from Mexico’s Valdez.

Haney (28-0, 15 KOs), of Henderson, Nevada, clearly outpointed Sydney’s Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs) as well. The 23-year-old Oakland native won 10 rounds on one scorecard (118-110) and eight rounds apiece on the other two cards (116-112, 116-112) to become boxing’s eighth fully unified champion of the four-belt era.

Haney retained his WBC 135-pound championship and won the IBF, WBA and WBO belts from Kambosos.

Neither Haney nor Kambosos had headlined a boxing telecast on ESPN before Saturday night.

Haney’s six previous fights were streamed by DAZN, which isn’t monitored by Nielsen and doesn’t release its own viewership totals. Kambosos’ upset of Teofimo Lopez (16-1, 12 KOs) in their lightweight title fight also was streamed by DAZN on November 27 from Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater in New York.

ESPN’s telecast of Haney-Kambosos began during the 11th round of the main event Showtime televised live Saturday night, Stephen Fulton’s terrific performance in a 12-round, unanimous-decision victory over Daniel Roman. The start of Haney-Kambosos impacted Showtime’s viewership of the final two rounds of Fulton-Roman, according to Nielsen.

In all, the 122-pound championship bout between Philadelphia’s Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs), the WBC and WBO champ, and Los Angeles’ Roman (29-4-1, 10 KOs), a former IBF and WBA champ, drew an average of 199,000 viewers. Fulton-Roman, which headlined a Premier Boxing Champions card at The Armory in Minneapolis, attracted a peak audience of 251,000 in its early rounds.

Showtime – a premium cable channel owned by the same parent company, Paramount Global, as BS.com – has almost 30 million subscribers. ESPN, a basic cable network, has more than 80 million subscribers.

ESPN was wrong about Modern 4 Belt Era

Image

https://www.youtube.com/rummyscorner

ESPN had several erroneous claims in their graphic which, taken together, downplay the historic significance of what Haney just accomplished. This edition of Rummy’s Corner will explain the inaccuracies in the ESPN graphic, which include erroneous claims about when the 4 belt era officially began in professional boxing, and also regarding the fact that ESPN included both Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos as four belt undisputed champions. All three claims in the ESPN graphic are complete and total falsehoods, and this video will attempt to explain exactly how and why ESPN was incorrect. Please watch and enjoy the video for one person’s take. This is Rummy’s Corner.
