Hatton has just ONE good win in 45 fights.

His second best win is arguably Paulie ... that speaks volumes.

Maussa - fluked his way onto a world title. Became a whipping boy post Hatton
Collazo - another weak champion, did pick up a world championship again ... against a 12-2 joker. But a decent win I suppose. Hatton barely scraped past him.
Urango - Another weak champion.
Castillo - completely shot


It's hardly a great resume of conquests out of 45 wins. Probably Britain's most overrated boxer. Riding the coattails of once punching Tszyu in the balls.

Hatton vs Barrera: Date and start time

The eight-round exhibition bout will take place on Saturday, November 12.

It will be on the same bill to a BOXXER show which will include Natasha Jones vs Marie-Eve Dicaire in a super-middleweight title clash.

It is be held at the AO Arena in Manchester and Olympian Frazer Clarke will also be in action.

Hatton vs Barrera should get underway from 10:30pm on the night.

Hatton vs Barrera: TV channel and live stream

Sky Sports will be showing the BOXXER action live from 7pm.

Their coverage will then include Hatton vs Barrera from 10pm.

Ricky Hatton: “We’ve all waited a long time for this fight. I hope the fans can be a little bit more patient so we can be back with a bigger and better show.

“I wish Hughie a speedy recovery, but obviously I’m gutted as I have been training so hard for this fight.

“I’m absolutely devastated. I got myself in great shape physically and mentally.

“But I’ll take a little break and be back fitter and stronger for the new date with the fans.”

Prior to the postponement, Hatton said: “Even though we retired, we’re not dead, we’re still proud champions, me and Marco.

“We’ve still got to set ourselves goals, we’ve got dreams to live. It was an easy decision to make.

“It’s an exhibition but it will be competitive, because we’re both proud champions. I don’t think he’ll want to come to Manchester and have me box his ears off, and I don’t think I’d like Marco to box my ears off either.

“We all know what a great fighter Marco was, no one needs to tell me, but to actually go in there and share the ring with him and find out first hand just how good he is it’s going to be a dream come true.

“Trust me, none of the fans will leave this event disappointed.”

Talking about Witter… he says he didn’t wanna fight him because he was pissed off and didn’t wanna give him a chance then 3/4 lines later he finishes the chapter by stating he always wanted to fight him but the timing was never right.

It’s a strange one. Ricky clearly thought he’d do a lot more than he has and whilst the Boxxer element of the show has some good fights, the only local guy I think in those fights is Brad Rea and I don’t think he sells loads. Cheema might do a few but it’s a bit of a drive from Coventry and it’s not really a meaningful fight.

Dan Hardy vs. Diego Sanchez boxing match on Ricky Hatton undercard canceled

A switch in broadcast partners resulted in Hardy vs. Sanchez being dropped from this weekend’s Hatton vs. Barrera card.

Did you know that UFC vets Dan Hardy and Diego Sanchez were set to face off in a boxing match this weekend? Well now you do! Unfortunately, the bout has been canceled.

This isn’t the first bump in the road when it comes to Dan Hardy’s attempt to compete in combat sports again, but it may be his last. The former UFC welterweight title contender hasn’t fought since 2012 when doctors discovered he suffered from Wolff Parkinson White syndrome.

WPWS is a heart condition that can lead to irregular heartbeat, heart palpitations, and sometimes cardiac arrest. Rather than undergo a surgical procedure to treat the issue, Hardy spent the next several years trying to get medically cleared despite the issue.

After being released by the UFC in 2021, Hardy was finally able to secure a boxing booking against Diego Sanchez on the Ricky Hatton vs. Marco Antonio Barrera undercard set for July 2, 2022. That fight got delayed until November 12th, and with it Sanchez vs. Hardy. Unfortunately, the boxing bout between former UFC greats got downsized sometime in the ensuing months.

“So basically the card was picked up by Sky Sports,” Dan Hardy told Submission Radio. “And they decided that they wanted the Hatton vs. Barrera [undercard] fights off the card and to add all the rest of their own fights to it. Cause obviously they got a deal with Boxer and they’ve got loads of fighters signed to their management team.”

“So yeah, they basically just took the Hatton vs. Barrera fight and they canceled the rest of the fights. I’ve had a bit of a chat with Diego about it. Of course, he was disappointed as well, but you know, it’s the fight game. It’s chaotic at the moment, and with new promoters getting into the businesses, I think sometimes they buy themselves a bit more than they can chew, and I think that’s what happened. I hope it goes really well. But aside from following Ricky Hatton’s Instagram, I’m not really hearing anything about it.”

Hardy admitted it could be the end of his attempts to step back into a ring or cage as a fight.

“My Mum said it kind of feels like the universe is kind of telling you something here. Maybe it is,” he said. “Maybe I’m just clinging onto something. But to be honest, I’m still feeling great, I still feel in good condition, my mind’s sharp, and there are a couple of options for the new year. Yeah, there’s a couple of options, couple of people’s names I’ve got in mind.”

“But to be honest, I’m just kind of going with what comes to me at the moment. I’m so busy with the YouTube channel, with the new project that’s coming up in the new year. That’s gonna be incredible. That might give me an opportunity to compete again as well in Mixed Martial Arts. I’m taking things in stride a bit more.”

“I’ve had so many curve balls these last six months,” he admitted. “It’s been a bit of stressful ride. But I’m sitting here today in front of you with a smile on my face, and I’m feeling very positive about the new year. Very, very positive.”

For those worried about Dan Hardy’s job security with UFC partner BT Sport following his recent clashes with Dana White, “The Outlaw” had some good news to share.

“I’ve had another contract come through,” Hardy revealed. “It’s not a fight contract, but it is a contract within Mixed Martial Arts for a new job. So, I can’t say any more about it, but it’s gonna keep me busy for the next couple of years. I’m very excited.”

Exhibitions are usually mismatches or gentlemen agreement beforehand. Got a feeling Hatton will just win a uneventful planned points' victory.
