Bowe v Hide was fly swatting, not much else.

If Shields were down at a level where she had little say in how often or how hard she gets hit, you’d be mad not to pick Marshall in this fight.

But IMO it will be speed (or lack of) that ultimately decides this one.

sav is good but people have started buying the hype about her being some sort of freakish puncher who just will need a few shots, totally disregarding how awful her opponents have been

was hannah rankin (who took tons of shots before being stopped late) her best opponent? pretty dreadful list there, almost all of them well undersized and totally lacking ability. guess it happens when there are like 20 active mw fighters worldwide. even one of her 'better' opponents 44 year old maria lindberg (another short chubster) was way past it at the time and hadnt beaten an opponent with a winning record in 6 years

christina hammer, let alone shields, would hardly lose a round vs anyone sav has fought. she is mostly thumping much smaller washerwomen who need to shed a few

hide also had a china chin, being ko'd by a jab and rocked by air. it's hard to say the quality of shields' chin. she was down once but it was more balance/suprise and she didnt look hurt and won every part of the fight from there

as i said too, i think sav's power, while good, is being blown up by hype and flattered by opposition which is undersized and devoid of ability. if shields can take a shot 3/4 as well as hanah rankin i doubt she'll be close to getting stopped

Depends who is judging it. Shields is faster and the slightly better boxer, but a lot of judges score in favour of come forward power punchers, and if the judges are British, all bets are off

She might not have power but she is clearly physically strong, distance minded, and has a pretty sound technique, unlike the latest tomato can Marshall boxed last night.

As many big punchers have found over the years, it’s very hard to knock someone out when you can’t land clean punches. Marshall is facing a significant speed deficit.
The same tomato can Shields outpointed years ago ?
Correct. And?
Just saying, you pick Shields and I pick Marshall but i've been following boxing long enough to know that Marshall might be swinging at thin air all night and get outboxed, she also might land the honey punch and spark her out.Marshall gets power into her shots and Shields throws arm punches,I don't like that style and I don't like Katie Taylors style either, end of

I didn't mind the Jenkins stoppage at first but watching it back it did look early, he should've took a knee though

Anyone have the knockdown vital in the Rea/Ndafoluma fight?
76-75.
Too open to getting hit… looked like he couldn’t go through the gears and looks like a natural leftie fighting orthodox.
Good learning fight but he needs double up his jab, throw the right hand more and stop getting pushed in the ropes.
Great knockdown from the southpaw stance.
Will do him the world of good.

Ref had it 6-2.
I had it 4-4 minus the knockdown

That’s me giving 3 of the 4 close rounds to Ndafoluma… so really it could’ve been as wide as 79-72,

Fair play to Marshall she’s building a following. The card was terrible but there were loads more in there than the probellum card that had loads of local fighters on it, Ritson, Williamson, Laws, McCormack etc.

I expected it to be near empty.

It’s good having a female fighter that can bang a bit. I hope she beats Shields & makes that arena her home.

It would take a lot to be as empty as it was for the Probellum show. Sky hype the hell out of their shows and I’m sure there would have been a load of freebies too as there were for the Riakporhe show at Wembley arena.

It’s a fascinating fight. Marshall’s mam Christine Dee is my cousin so I’m deffo biased but I think the stars are aligning for Savannah to stop her based on recent evidence.

Shields is the better boxer but she’s not a fully fledged middleweight and Marshall‘s power is for real.

One factor some are overlooking is that Shields will have boxed just three times in three years if as expected they meet next. She’s had two MMA fights in that time too so hasn’t been fully focused on boxing over the last few years.

The job Peter Fury has done with Marshall is outrageous. Her KO streak is incredible given women are boxing two minute rounds.

I’m honestly not sure there’s a fight I’m more excited about that can be made this year!

shields hasn't exactly been active, but then again she got in more rounds in her last fight alone than marshall has gotten in her last 3.....almost double in fact! savy been stopping opponents so only completed more than 6 rounds once. will be interesting if she cant bang out shields early

Shields looked unsettled. She'd probably taken a lot of abuse from the crowd all night as well.

She's already said she doesn't want to go there. I don't think she understands Savannah isn't a national draw. She mentioned Wembley or The O2!

Agree.
MMA hasn't worked out for her, and she only went there, according to her, for the money.
The only money fight in boxing is Marshall, and Marshall needs to be where her fans are to bring in that money for the both of them.

Yeh. Even more than Taylor-Serrano.
Taylor Serrano would have been better maybe two years ago.
The Persoon loss and aftermath of getting a crooked decision put a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths, and Taylor's recent performances show a noticeable slide.
On the flip side Marshall is a banger, Shields is an elite boxer, and they are both peaking.
