They shouldn’t be allowed to cancel boxing shows, take a lot of time and effort to arrange, not to mention all the training the fighters have gone through to get into peak condition at the right time. It’s not easily re-scheduled like a football game or something.

They won’t cancel sport. They’ll just have a moments silence.
And I expect if Adam Smith will have to explain to us that Mikaela Mayer coming out to ‘don’t stop me now’ by Queen was in no way a dig at the Queen dying.

I don't think a shut down happens anymore, for one the country can't afford it and many won't comply. More likely a ten bell salute or a minutes silence. The only day things will shut down is on the funeral which won't be for 10+ days

They are not forced to cancel but can cancel if they choose too. I hope it goes ahead if it was the day of the funeral it should be cancelled. But not when these fighters have been in camp for so long for this big fight.

They don't do a period of mourning anymore which shuts anything/everything down

Racing canned, cricket canned , golf canned, 10x times bigger than boxing, Saturday is just a boxing show at the end of the day. isn't really getting much interest outside the hard cores, almost zero press on it. Queen passing is a huge deal. alot of people going might not go now. wont be much press on it. all about the queen now

That’s exactly why they shouldn’t cancel it. Who gives a fvck if this show goes ahead? No-one except hardcore boxing fans (and not even many of them!) so why not just let it happen.

You do know the weekends football went ahead after the previous King died ? I'd wait until any official announcement but I'd be shocked if everything was shut down for over 2 weeks till the funeral

While I understand some will be affected by today's news more than others, can we not just keep things going and celebrate Queen Elizabeth's life at the same time? It's not the unexpected tragedy that Diana was.

Premier League clubs believe this weekend's round of fixtures are 'almost certain' to be postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II... as the EFL calls off Friday's Football League matches

It's going ahead behind closed doors. Weird but I'm guessing they're anticipating all other sports to not go ahead and they can't afford to cancel.

Gonna speak to the government.. we’ll find out tomorrow.
Apparently when King George died, all sports continued.
When Diana died, all sports were postponed.
