Whyte is in a no win situation on this fight. If he wins he beat a no name fighter with an inflated record. If he loses he will still be considered a washed up never was.

If he wins he gets paid, burries a loss, gains back some confidence...
If he loses its not good...

I don't feel that his recent record is overly inflated
Sure there are plenty of knock overs early on, as with nearly all boxers in all the divisions, especially heavyweight. But it does look like they have been gradually building him up apart from an easy tune up after being out over covid.
Not that I have much hope for the guy. I saw him fight Forrest and Sour, and thought he was a flabby light hitting smallish HW with ratshit cardio
So pretty average for second/third tier heavyweights
Perfect confidence booster for Whyte.

If Whyte wins which he should it will be difficult to do anything but go for a meaningless belt against Joshua , I'm still interested to watch it though on Saturday. Just a shame there is another decent card on BT at the same time

Franklin the sort of guy they would feed Audley Harrison back in his BBC days. I would probably flick back and forth between this and BT

Come off it. Audley fought mostly part-time pros on the BBC.
His best win on there was against the Dutch Sonny Liston Richel Hersisia (who didn’t have one recognisable win from memory) or Thomas Bonin who also didn’t have a recognisable win.
Franklin is better than both. I thought he was fortunate to beat Forrest but the fact he was competitive with him shows he’s around that level.

At best Franklin is marginally better than both, but not by much.
Unless Whyte is shot to pieces he should stroll this, and I’ve never thought much of Whyte tbh.

Not expecting much from Franklin. Shane McGuigan was on Bunce’s podcast & says Dubois has sparred him. Apparently Franklin has lost every round & doesn’t throw a lot. Not exactly encouraging.
He has quick hands for a heavyweight, but is carrying too much blubber and his cardio is crap. Things he could easily improve on for the fight, plus practice his upper cut

Hearn said personal problems in an earlier interview, why can’t he just tell the truth ??
The Connor Benn fiasco has really exposed what a total, and serial lier he is.
Nothing he says now can be trusted.

It’s a tricky one. Eddie was interviewed yesterday and said that Richards hadn’t attended the workout or press conference due to personal reasons but that he expected him to fight on Saturday still. Then the announcement re: illness.
I suppose if he had a cold/bit of a bug or something then Eddie wouldn’t come out and say that as it’d give his opponent a lift.
A few months back no one would have questioned it but that’s not the case for him now.

Geeze Franklin is going to be sh*t in this.
257!
His cardio was crap at 231.
At least "The Bodysnatcher" has something soft and squidgy to land on and won't hurt his hands...
How disappointing.
