That's disappointing. Why could Top Rank not find a decent opponent for Jalolov? Saudis are paying well.

Carlos Takam, Charles Martin or Jermaine Franklin would likely be willing, and give him some needed rounds.

I can only assume it was part of the deal that Team Fury and Team Usyk had a lot of input into the undercard. I suppose Jalalov is getting a chance I suppose, but...

I wouldn't be surprised if all these guys sit out until the next Riyadh season in the hope they get on that card. Maybe a warm up in the summer.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season and DAZN have announced that “Ring of Fire” will be broadcast live on DAZN worldwide on 17 February.

WBC and Lineal Champion Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury and WBO/IBO/IBF/WBA unified champion Oleksandr Usyk will collide in a history-making showdown. The winner will become boxing’s first Undisputed Heavyweight Champion since Britain’s Lennox Lewis claimed that honor 24 years ago, in 1999, but this time four belts are on the line for the first time in history.

The fight and undercard will be available globally on DAZN as pay-per-view, including in the UK and US.

The event will also be available on pay-per-view in the UK through TNT Sports and Sky Sports.

Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) defeated Deontay Wilder to claim the WBC world title in their 2020 rematch and sealing their trilogy with a knockout victory in 2021.

Ukraine’s Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs), an Olympic gold medallist, decided to move up from the Cruiserweight division to the Heavyweight division after establishing his dominance there. He caused an upset by defeating Anthony Joshua and becoming the Unified Heavyweight champion. Usyk successfully defended his titles against Joshua in a rematch. Now, he sets his sights on becoming only the second Cruiserweight Champion ever to achieve undisputed status in the heavyweight division.

Fury vs Usyk, ‘Ring of Fire’ will feature two further world championship fights at the Kingdom Arena, in Riyadh.

Sydney cruiserweight sensation Jai Opetaia will enter a rematch against the previous ruler of the division and champion of the World Boxing Super Series, Mairis Briedis (28-2, 20 KOs) for the IBF world title. The undefeated IBF Super Featherweight World Champion Joe Cordina (17-0, 9 KOs) will make a second defence of his title against when he takes on the IBO World Champion Anthony Cacace (21-1, 7KOs). Former light heavyweight king Sergey Kovalev (35-4-1, 29 KOs) will continue his run at cruiserweight by taking on the unbeaten Robin Sirwan Safar (16-0, 12 KOs) from Sweden. Also featuring is British heavyweight star of the future Moses Itauma (7-0, 5 KOs), the World Youth Amateur champion from 2022, along with cruiserweight and 2021 Olympian David Nyika (8-0, 7 KOs) from New Zealand.

Just over 2 weeks to go and we still have little idea what to expect.

Usyk should outbox Fury for over 12 rounds to win, the same way he did to Joshua.

However, since Fury is not especially known for fighting clean, things could get real messy unless the referee keeps a strong grip on any of Fury's regular shenanigans.

When it comes to attitude, Oleksandr Usyk is something else. There's really been no one like him before. He's almost uncannily pragmatic in the ring.

So this might well be the first time Tyson Fury enters the ring as the psychological underdog. Not even Klitschko or Wilder could match Fury's mouth in the build up to their fights.

This time Fury's main, maybe only advantage, is that of size.

The amount of times he "retired", the amount of times he avoided to make thos fight happen.
The first and only boxer up until now I ever called a duck.
The only cut is that big ass gap in the middle of his legs.

Theres a photograph of the cut, which looks quite bad, but you find yourself asking the question of 'why the hell is he still sparring flat out' this close to the fight that can define your legacy. Surely this close to the fight the work should be focused on technical work such as shot selection, footwork etc and not going hard at it.

The video and the statements make me think this was all set up. Fury supposedly in great shape all of a sudden and repeatedly mentioning how great shape he was in. The 2 megapixel quality video of an elbow landing. Who throws such a blatant an elbow against someone who's got such a big fight coming up.

I guess he was looking for an edge, any edge, and just couldn't find one.

Hence the convenient cut. There's simply no way he should be risking a cut like that with 2 weeks to go.


This was probably the only mindgame card left for him to play. Delay and confuse.

Some might say there's PED cycling issues involved given Fury's previous form.
