Considering the enormous weight, Bakole does have a good engine.
He also has natural fast twitch fibres giving him quick hands.
But like Billy says, he is squandering his chances because he lacks discipline.
So maybe a future champion isn't in his future, but he does make an excellent opponent for up and coming fighters.
That can be a decent career, just ask Chisora :OhYes:

Even Nelson can’t control him.

But he still keeps pushing the Bakole barrow , For now anyway , Billy tells everyone who will listen how good Bakole is in the gym yet he just comes in a fat rolly poly , whats more it will not change , SEEN AN INTERVIEW WHERE bILLY SAID HE INVESTED HEAVILLY IN bAKOLE EARLY DAYS , AND HE (Bakole )HAS MADE A FEW MILLION , ,

I suspect Billy would of made plenty of Bakole has well ,and once he has finished grabbing his share of big purses ,he'll probably not hesitate to say Sayonara , after all it reflects on him has a trainer if he cannot control his fighter , basicly he's wasting his time , , so grab the cash get back the investment , plus a profit and say bye bye .

What i can't understand is why promoters use big fat out of shape , guys , after all its a promoters job to put on good fights and give the paying public the excitment they pay for

Billy well , truth probably to be known , he just wants his investment back, so carrys on with the hard sell , of how good Bakole is in the gym , pity he cannot carry it forward to on the night

First time I've heard Nelson critical of Bakole. Speaks volumes really. Bakole might have squandered his opportunities for the moment.

He might have squandered his opportunity to go higher up, though his record isn't that bad yet. We don't have a lot of "0"s in the division any more, so that isn't a biggie.
If the Bakole that turned up against Michael Hunter can return, or even slightly lighter, he has more chance to go forward.
But don't underestimate the earning potential of a third tier heavyweight opponent. Guys like Takem and Chisora are wealthier than some past champions. I could fully see Bakole taking up the mantle from those men.

Efe won it. Bakole is a plodder. Not sure why people forget about the Hunter fight. It was almost as it that fight didn't happen. Bakole lives in the congo and looks like he doesn't even train much. Comes over and trains with Billy for a few weeks before his fights. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's my understanding.

Yh.. wasn’t he on Congo before the Parker fight too?

He flew in from there.

There’s pictures of him sparring Riakhporhe from a month or so back & he looks like he had lost a fair bit of weight. It sounds like he’s been piling the weight back on whilst in Saudi before the fight

Muscles are made up of ~75% water. Fat is more like ~15% water.

I am a Bakole sized individual. When I go on a hard diet, I can shift 40lbs very quickly - less than six weeks. It's pretty much all water weight though, maybe 6lbs of fat, the rest water and the stuff that needs that water. You look greatly reduced but the amount of fat you have budged is only a small percentage of the total lost.

Here's the rub. I can easily put 25lbs of that back on within a couple of weeks. Looks like you've been on a steroid cycle, when really you have just refilled your deflated muscles.

I don't think many old school trainers and even some nutritionists understand this. It's not complicated but explains the swings in weight of these big guys.

In addition, over months and years, overeating lays down fat that is hard to shift, 1lb a week is a lot to move of pure fat.

Someone like Bakole needs a year or so of dedicated work to get in really good shape, not just fake it and be a temporarily lighter, weakened version of himself.

I'd love to see how Kabayel would approach a prime Bakole

Would be a very well matched fight that. Good call. There are early rumours Itauma is getting Bakole, though.

I think Kabayel may well be the sleeper in the division. He might be the best active heavyweight around right now.
