I can't see how Steve Gray scored that in Wood's favour, just another example of inept British officiating

No one can. It's pure corruption. There isn't any other answer.

I think the corruption stuff falls over a bit when you think about it.

Who's paying?

I think both fighters are now promoted by the same company, so unlikely to come from that direction.

If someone else is bribing officials why only one? (I take it the other cards were vaguely sane?)

Honestly I think it just either comes down to bias or just old fashioned ineptness.

I bloody hope so anyway.

Said it all along, Leigh Wood was a C-Level fighter who got lucky. He once lost a UD to Jezza Dickens of all people. It was a guarantee that once he faced someone who wasn't a hype job or shot, that he would get exposed.

I don’t know if I’d go as far as saying he’s a c level fighter but agree about getting lucky. I admire his toughness & bravery but I don’t particularly rate him as a fighter that highly.

Define C level? Area level? British title level?

I saw something completely different, a one sided contest and a referee willing to let a fighter take too much punishment and the corner throwing the towel in :-?
Early doors it was a good fight , you had to always edge Cacase , but it was'nt a shut out UNTIL the later rnds , the ref definety looked like he had seen enough when the towel came in , . Too long out of the ring in the time he was out he could of had what 2 maybee 3 fights and a lot of rnds sparring , but he was in active . Mind you i think Carcase will always be a bit too good and hit a little too hard for him , Never the less , i enjoyed watching two good boxers go at it , better than all the shite the previous weekend .

Woods looked lost in the Warrington fight. I know he turned it around with a good shot, but the signs where there.

18 months later and going up in weight against a seasoned super feather on a good run of form always looked like a task.

Davison said Wood wasn’t injured in his 19 month lay off as they claimed at the time but had an auto immune illness

Makes sense and understand why he kept it close-hold. Hope he stays healthy.

Agree , i doubt its corruption , i think its like you say just old fashioned ineptness ,and biassed , which brings you to why is it constantly happening , be it bad judging or bad refereeing , where are the board in these matters , are they brought to task , dropped down a couple grades , if not WHY NOT

Losing to Jezza Dickens. You cant be regarded as any more than C level if you lose to Jezza Dickens.

Smith is a useless commentator.

I like Jones, Frampton and Barker.

Smith is just awful. At the start of every fight he has one insight on both boxers. Does A have the power? Is B better at this higher weight?

Then the rest of the fight is simply him repeating himself over and over. And he sees the whole fight according to his two ideas.

He's desperately poor.

And the folk he beat?

Jazza Dickens is domestic class so that level is C for you
