If Garcia takes the rest of his career seriously.. he can dominate really.

The Rolly loss was probably the wake up he needed.

This has devalued Eubank as well, hasn't it.

One shot that he wasn’t gonna land.

He was finished. Leaning in against the ropes. Ducking down

No way there was anything wrong with that stoppage. Benn had barely made it to his feet he was never going to get out of trouble there.

Half the round left I think? I'd have let it run if Benn was close to the bell.

Hopelessly out of his depth.

As expected.
Thing is, I'd have fancied Benn to have the superior cardio had he managed to last until Garcia blew himself out. It might've become very interesting from R5 or so.
I get the thinking because he’s outworked some other opponents late but the problem with that is Benn was also using a lot of energy & hasn’t made that weight since 2022.

Benn only wanted to win the green and gold belt.

He didn’t do that.

He now wants to skip 154 pounds.

And will campaign at 160 which we know is a weak division.

He said maybe even 168.

Does he win a belt at 160?

He would have to be favorite vs Lara at this point.

Benn was loading up and missing by miles.
He may have come right later in the fight but he was getting hit so clean, so easily that later in the fight he would have been battered.

Ref shouted "you gotta show me something" to Benn after he broke them on the ropes. Benn threw nothing back and Garcia landed a few more and he stopped it. No complaints from Benn. Fair enough

The weight could easily have been a factor later on, plus the mental drain of being outmanoeuvred when your prize asset is lockdown.

But we've seen Garcia make unforced errors in the past, and he gave the impression of wanting to do a number on Benn. We've seen loads of fights where one guy gets caught because he was better. Just sometimes not in a given moment.

Most of us gave Benn an outside chance in any wild exchanges that may have occurred, but Garcia was on good enough form to deny them.

Is this a joke?

What are we actually doing here?

He’s not even shown he’s British level.

This whole Benn carry on has been one of the strangest episodes I can remember in boxing.

He’s got no business anywhere near world level.

When Lockett got beat by Pavlik did we start saying let’s get him a shot at Kessler at 168 or Dawson at 175?

When Jennings got folded by Cotto did we start speculating on how he’d do against 154 or 160 champs?

Of course not, we just accepted they were a million miles off world level & manipulated the ranking bodies to get a title shot.

It’s not hate. He’s just being honest.

To most boxing fans the whole idea that this was any kind of competitive fight was laughable.
