Great to see Jimmy Heair in here.
A real journeyman he was.
Won 96 fights with 52 KO's is more than a 'journeyman'.

Frank, love the pics. Seeing the Gonzalez-Puddu, Pineda-Heair doubleheader reminds me of some of the Forum and Olympic cards that would feature maybe 4 ten rounders, all of which could sell out a house on their own, but on one card. Today that would be considered a mega-card, but back then it was a regular happening. I am amazed to see the prices and the adverts which would accompany it. It was like $12.50 ringside with a byline that would state, "Tickets can be purchased at Ed's Texaco on Main street." What great nostalgia and what a great piece of Americana that appears lost today in our multi-titled, PPV boxing world. Rick, I envy you and Frank cuz you guys were right there amidst an awesome day in the sport. Frank, do you have any pics of Halimi Gutierrez? He was a favorite of mine who burnt bright like a passing comet. To this day I recall hands that were like a blur. And not fluff either. I saw him drop Salavarria and I'll be damned if anyone knew which punch did it.

Frank, I believe since Halimi was a nickname they have it under his real name Lorenzo Gutierrez. However, in my 1974 edition of the Ring record book, they also post his record prior to 1966, although without details. According to this he had a phenominal record going into his bout with Julio Guerrero in '66. I'll look it up tonight.

I remember the guy, I seen him fight, but untill you mentioned him, I had forgotten him, I'll see if some of my friends have a pic. of him.

Scard,
Looking at his record, yeah, I seen him fight a few times as I was at the Forum for just about all the fights at that time, his fights at the Forum were on the undercard of other fights, his fight with Superfly was the main at the Olympic and I had to have seen that fight as I seen all of Superfly fights, but to be honest I just don't remember too much about him.
