Lou Brouillard - OVER-RATED.
I will say that he isn't mentioned as much (as I think he should be) when GREAT MIDDLWEIGHTS thread comes up... But he is over-rated in my opinion.
He did have a good win over Baby Joe Gans, but I seem to remember reading that he avoided Emilio Martinez... When the fight was mentioned.
And Lou faded badly toward he end of his career.

Gotta disagree Crease. Overrated fighters aren't World class at Welterweight, Middleweight, and Light Heavyweight, with wins over Jimmy McLarnin, Young Corbett III and Mickey Walker.
As much as it pains me to say this, Barry McGuigan didn't accomplish enough in his career to merit being in the IBHOF, and for that I'd have to say he's a bit overrated. Still, I will say that he had a style that quite possibly may have seen him defeat many top fighters. His career was too short though.

Arcari is probably a little underrated. He's never talked about among the top junior welterweights, but he had an amazing record (70-2), held part of the junior welter title for four years and fought a decent, if not memorable, level of competition. He's hurt by the fact that he never fought the more well-respected Locche or Cervantes and almost never fought outside of Italy

Not trying to take the easy route here, but Mattioli is probably right where he should be. He had some decent wins, W10 Eddie Perkins, K7 Joergen Hansen, K5 Eckhard Dagge, K5 Jose Manuel Duran, and of course his draw with Bruno Arcari, but for a guy who went 64-7-2, I'd expect a little more. And there were alot of soft spots on his ring resume.

James Toney at Middleweight

James Toney I feel was abit overated at MW, he beat fighters like Barkley, McCallum, and Nunn. The funny thing I remember is his fight with Roy Jones Jr, Toney was so big and the favorite coming into the fight, in the hbo previews they were clowning Jones like he had no chance.
Marling Starling

Underrated. Starling arguably beat Donald Curry in there first fight, stopped Breland and Honeyghan decisively, decisioned Tommy Ayers, Lupe Aquino and Simon Brown, and was never stopped in 52 fights. Starling had a very good chin, stamina, and fought well on the inside.

I wish I saw this thread before today.
Sandoval doesn't merit either classification. Brutal kayo from Canizales ended career too soon to judge.
Keep the thread going. I'll throw some names I didn't see yet. Pick any.
