jacksons explosive power does not quite rescue him from defeat against benvenuti who has bossed the fight from the off. he has nino down in the seventh, but he rises at five not too distressed. the fight is working its way to a benvenuti decision when jackson again pulls one out of nowhere in the 11th. this time nino is on rubber legs as he gets up. julian throws heavy bombs at his opponent who survives by the skin of his teeth to claim a UD

I think that Ross is just too durable and slick for Arguello and makes him look mechanical in the fight taking a reasonably close decision.
The faster Leonard outboxes Ortiz on the outside taking another close decision.
"El Gato" gets past Buchanan's jab and delivers a one sided beating leading up to a late stoppage.

this first one is a thriller but i take canizales to win by slim decision over 15 rounds of compelling action. no knock downs but you couldnt take your eyes off this one for a second.
canizales SD 15
valdez wins this by KO against the tough fulmer. gene stays in the fight until the fourth when rocky ups his game and injects greater venom into his punches building a good lead in the process as fulmer soaks it up.
a two fisted assault in round 9 by valdez sees fulmer weakening and in the 10th a solid right topples the american. he beats the count but is on rubber legs and the referee saves him.
valdez TKO 10

Always cobtributing, Collins. Leave this thread be, mate. It's poorer for your help --- &, no, this isn't an invitation on my part for you to engage in more mud-slinging. Say your piece, & then find another thread to trash.

Ketchel slays Carter --- one is good, the other truly great. Ketchel by mid-rounds TKO.
Hopkins & Barkley have a lot of fun together, but, as with the above matching, there's only ever going to be one victor. Hopkins is just the better man, though Barkley perhaps gives him a better losing battle than any previous opponent Hopkins has ever beaten.
Naseem Hamed vs. Joel Casamayor over twelve rounds...

sibsons left eye is closed shut by round 6. he bravely continues to wage war against benn but after a terrible round 8 where he hardly threw a shot the writing is on the wall. in the 9th he takes a standing count and soon after that the bout is stopped.

I was going to post Casamayor-Hamed a second time, too, as it was hijacked by one of our resident would-be comedians.

Here's something to get your rocks off to --- GI backs Ali by late stoppage, well up on the cards at the time.

Last man standing? Or Ali against them all? If it's the former I pick Satan, with Ali outlasting the Horsemen and Christ. If it's the latter Ali loses by TKO 4.

Well said. I've asked him to leave it out of this thread, but to no avail. I hope your words carry more weight with him. This is a great, great thread, of which I have been a keen contributor.
Collins, hunt me in another if you've even a shred of class.
