Is his position that it was eggs or that he never had anything in his system and it was a contaminated test?
I don't think he blamed eggs, that's what the WBC came up with. He initially said it was nothing to do with eggs but then he got some 'scientists' to look into it and they concluded Benn failed because his body stored clomiphene up. He apparently visited Ibiza before being tested too so assume they are saying he was eating eggs whilst away which gets around it not being present in UK eggs.
I'm imagining massive muscular Ibizan chickens.

Mannix said on his podcast that apparently Tank has been offered 8 figures to fight Benn in the UK this summer. He goes on to say that that will prove to be an insufficient inducement to get Tank to agree as he earned $40m for the Ryan Garcia fight.

I’ve no idea if either of those statements are true.

Eggsactly this.

It was the WBC who cooked up the egg scenario on his behalf.

His actual defence is that his body doesn’t work in a typical fashion - hence the anomaly.

Ruthless-RKO wrote: 13 Feb 2024, 09:27 Conor Benn Updates On BBBofC Hearing

After many months of speculation, Conor Benn is expected to have a hearing with the British Boxing Board of Control about a renewal of his license and now he has provided an update.

Benn is still unable to box in the UK after failing two drug tests in 2022 ahead of his fight with Chris Eubank Jr. He has fought twice since then, both times in the US, beating Peter Dobson in Las Vegas earlier this month, though Dobson has since called for a rematch.

After that fight he took to X to call out a number of high-level fighters and one of them, Gervonta Davis, has reposed. Talks are now in advanced stages according to Eddie Hearn.

Since July last year, Benn has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the WBC and the National Anti-Doping Panel lifted his suspension, but that was appealed by UK Anti-Doping and the British Boxing Board of Control.

Speaking to Boxing Social he has now been asked about when the hearing might be.

Very soon man, a matter of weeks. You got to remember I won the first hearing, won against the WBC, they chose to appeal so I’m extremely confident on my position. It’s just so hard having this hanging over my head constantly.

“It’s the biggest burden. My whole career I’ve been able to focus on tending so having this hanging over your head and having nothing fights just to keep active is really hard. I want to fight the best and climb the rankings, I want to test myself.”

There's an unwritten and unofficial code in boxing, you do not call out people from weight classes below, otherwise it makes you look like a weight bully.

If they want to call you out, then come up and meet you, then that's fine and the onus is on them.

I know Benn is desperate for some sort of signature fight, but a man like him that boasts of being a potential middleweight should not be calling out lightweights.

Not the point though is it? Tank shot his mouth off and made a dick of himself, I'm far from a Benn fan but Davis is a serious piece of sh1t, I'd love to see him ironed out

I'm not a fan either but I wouldn't think that an egg-less Benn would be the one to iron him out.

Shot his mouth off and received an offer which was quite a bit lower than his last purse. Not enough to tempt him to jump up a few weightclasses and become an opponent.

frank martin is really good, legit fight for tank, no way is he sh!tting the bed. i dont get criticizing him on this but not the guy who has fought twice in a row at junior middle but then is talking about fighting a lightweight. that's whack .

He literally said he would knock him out or something to that effect, I'm not saying Davis is ducking him or that I'd even thought for a sec this fight would happen but it's another typical case of a fighter shouting his mouth and getting his bluff called, I detest the meaningless Twitter spats but especially when Eddie made a legit offer and Tank pretty much ignored it, pisses me off that nonsense as for Martin he's alright but another guy who if Davis beats it's a case of meh, think his style will give tank problem early, like most of his opponents tbf

We all know Eddie’s into this for a bag of money.
Trying all they can to hook a big fish to square the circle and then get out of dodge.

Eddie using a lot of Grecian 2000 to cover his stress levels over this, me thinks.

In general terms does a fighter Or the BBBofC have to declare publically whether a fighter is under investigation or in fact banned …

I am trying my best not to fall into the trap of
far fetched scenario’s but

Are there any fighters 😜 who have not
Fought for a time period of 2 years or longer?

Are there any fighters who unexpectedly retire only to announce they are thinking of coming back?

Another question… are there any fighters who have retired to save face?

The rights to privacy can save face the reputation of a fighter.

Some fighters or sportsmen or women who have
Been a tadge “naughty” can pay a lot of men to
Take out injunctions to protect their privacy … I
Know at least 1.

it's just guys running their mouths, which benn himself does all the time. he calls out everyone from top guys (who he nevers fights) to 45 year old retirees. the ped lover has run his mouth and trashed fans and people across boxing for the last several years in fact,

what i care most about is that tank's next fight is vs a really good opponent, something tells me benn wont be similarly tested - he's never come close his entire career in fact. as long as someones in good fights i can handle the nonsense a bit easier.

so ya, pretty straight forward
