With such a bad undercard, and a curfew what are the chances 1000's miss the main event... Its one thing if people trickle in through the undercard. but if everyone just shows up at 9;30-10... Thats when the unrest starts, if your quing when you hear the first bell...

That's a good shout and I can well see it happening, especially to out of towners and first time Wembley attendees who don't realise what an absolute ball ache that stadium is to get to.

We got coach tickets and initially I was just going to f*ck them off, but actually I reckon a lot of people will do that and we might have a nice roomy coach, and when it comes to getting out of there, I bet we'll be thankful to have that thing to get in!

id be surprised if there's not major crowd trouble, i think it will kick off plenty. with so many people even if just a tiny percent are ill behaved that's still a lot. pissed./amped up dudes who already think they're hard because they're at boxing, with the confidence of having their mates behind them, who will jaw and fight over practically anything. a funny look, brushing shoulders, for the hell of it, seat issues, etc. probably be packs of travellers with existing rivalries there etc

wonder what happens if fury loses........could be bedlam. i remember when he got dropped in one of his early fights it looked like the crowd was about to storm ringisde, thankfully he came back strong the same round

Believe me, mate, I want better undercards served up and the 3 examples that I give you of British PPV events show a complete lack of respect for true fans like us. I am in now way defending the shite being served up.
My point was that this kinda shite wouldn’t be tolerated in the States and poorer undercards are becoming more frequent here.

It’s not just Queensbury. Matchroom and Boxxer are showing very similar traits as well.
Yeah - I see where you’re coming from pal.

Sky’s undercards this year have been poor whilst their main events (except the Marshall fight) have been great on the whole. Matchroom’s shows have had better undercards (albeit next week is looking poor with so many TBCs) whilst Frank’s undercards and main events have been disappointing at best (although I enjoyed the Leach/Bourke fight).

It’ll be interesting to see how well this sells in the US. Bob was talking of 300k buys initially. I’d be amazed if they do a quarter of that.

I don't remember anything at Froch-Groves, and that was the birth of the massive Wembley Boxing match. What kind of boxing matches have you been to? Trouble is part of being there, but in my experience it's often overstated and I've happily chatted away to strangers and the people sitting around me during the evening at every fight I've been to. I don't see why this should be any different. It's not like this is Millwall-Chelsea or anything, is it?

A Fury loss could be a bit of an issue though, I'll give you that one.

Not that it really matters but Fury/Chisora 2 was at the Excel. It was bedlam and I haven’t been to Frank show since because of it. I went 5 or 6 times during the Olympics and even had to queue to use the toilets then when it was mostly families there watching the boxing.

I agree though that there shouldn’t be similar issues at Wembley. Either people are going to see a good fight or they’ll be supporting Tyson.

travellers are always peaceful as long as theyre among each other, isnt that the case. not like they constantly fight with each other or cause issues with ppl who were just minding their own business

how much support do we expect whyte to have anyway? ppl talk like he has 0 support, and while certainly less than tyson, he's a well known name himself with his own fanbois

i'd expect much more passion at fury-whyte with 94k than groves-froch with its piddly 80k.especially if tyson loses or even just goes down at some point its already kicked off at much smaller fury fights.

Yeah. I don't think it'll be an early night. I know Povetkin one shotted him but his other KO loss, against Joshua, he took a proper hiding throughout that fight before finally succumbing (it surprises me that people remember it as competitive because he hurt AJ briefly: he got beaten up, basically) and he got up against Rivas and Parker, didn't he?

I reckon he'll last into the mid rounds, and maybe get stopped in the 8th?

I thought he looked good in the first Povetkin fight, like he'd actually learned something and was justifying his ranking. Can't tell anything from the rematch, and we never got to see him against Wallin so I don't know what he's going to bring.

He hasn't fought in over a year and must surely be ring rusty? Was there even a crowd for Povetkin 2? This is going to be quite the atmosphere, and he hasn't endeared himself to the boxing public recently. He's not getting cheered, that's for sure. You'd have to wonder how he's going to deal with that.

I'll have to watch some of his fights again to give myself a bit of a reminder of how he fights before I put a bet on.

What do you reckon?

Oh yeah sorry, the Excell!

My memory is going with old age. I watched some Olympic bouts there too and the toilets were inside the arena, which made sense. But they weren't at that fight: they were somewhere outside and quite a distance from the action.

The main travelling families will be in the expensive seats, so if there's any fueding it will be down there. There is no way they'll be up in the gods.

That's what I thought. It would be a bad look for them to be in the cheap seats. That's basically admitting you're not the most well off, and if that were the case I think from the travellers that I knew they'd rather stay home and watch it than admit that and lose face.

Fights that are decided via purse bids don’t have to have a rematch clause. We’re gonna end up seeing all kinds of arguments about this basic purse bid contract.

They can still get put in.

I remember reading that they was trying to in case Whyte won but not Fury. Don’t know what happened there. But Frank said there is none.

The fact that anyone could care less about how their percieved is tragic, I know all men are proud people and don't like to lose face but worrying about where your sat or how it looks and even bothering about how well off you look is pretty sad like

I agree Whytes a bit of a plodder. Nothing amazing.

However I’m not mega impressed with many of Fury’s performances either. He’s huge, he can move a bit and his punch technique is terrible. He’s tough and game and should be more than enough for Dillian.

Hopefully it’s a decent scrap but I’ve not got terribly high hopes tho.

I'd happily pay an extra fiver on the PPV price if that was included.

Tens of thousands of pissed up gypsies doing whatever they want. I reckon there'll be more than a few security guards phoning in to inform of testing positive for Covid that night. It'll be absolute mayhem.

How many gypsies are there in the UK? And how many are of the age and type that would go to this fight? I've spoken to several in the last few weeks and none of them are going. There'll be tens of thousands of "plastic tinkers" I'll give you that.

So 150,000 males. 40% will be 'fighting age' so 60,000. What percentage will buy tickets for this fight? 5-10% at most, I reckon so between 3000 and 6000 traveller males at the fight.
