the guy came on here before and called another poster a "prik" (spelling classes might be needed). He has an attitude and thinks he can say what he likes to people and do what he wants. Didn't work too well for him in the olympics when he got sent home on his tod for not making weight. this guy has a bully mentality and will crumble once it is put up to him bigtime. il always be cheering his opponent on because of his attitude and we see it in this thread. being an arrogant tosser to woodhouse who merely asked him "don't forget about me mate!". frankie replies, "i hope you know you are getting knocked out". it's just uncalled for on a forum but he has that mentality.

Re: Frankie Gavin
Like I've said earlier - the animosity doesn't stem from Woodhouse saying "don't forget about me" - Woodhouse instigated all this calling Gavin all sorts from ringside after the Bull fight. When he should have been celebrating the biggest win of his career, he was leaning over the ropes shouting obscenities at Gavin who was, quietly I might add, sitting at ringside.markp wrote:gavin is a nasty piece of work and i hope i don't get banned for saying so and having an opinion.

Saying that Frankie doesn't do himself any favours biting at every comment made. If doesn't come across well especially when you are potentially far superior to the fighter you are having the spat with.
Re: Frankie Gavin
He won't admit it, but I bet Arnie's pulling his hair out at how easy Gavin bites.
Re: Frankie Gavin
Why Dioufy? If I was Arnie I'd be loving the fact I've got a livewire who can take out his frustrations in the ring.
Re: Frankie Gavin
You'd love the fact that your fighter, who allegedly is destined for greatness, bites at everything and kind of embarrasses himself with the language he uses and his inability to get his point across with a bit of decorum and intellect? Time and time again this forum blows me away.jBacca wrote:Why Dioufy? If I was Arnie I'd be loving the fact I've got a livewire who can take out his frustrations in the ring.
Just look at Smigga, Paul Smith; I have been massively critical of his fights, and have said I don't think he'll make the top, but the way he conducts himself on a personal level to insults is exceptionally commendable. He does it with savvy and an intellect that is startling.
Frankie doesn't need an intellect equal to Smith's; he just needs common sense, IMO.

You call Frankie for having the audacity to say what he likes to who he wants - That's what you've just done and what this forum is for. People can say what they pretty much like here, under any name they like and 9/10 times get away with it. We'd all be f*cked if we didn't have an opinion.
Granted, I rarely agree with yours and think you're an idiot at times but you're more than entitled to say what you feel.
The stuff with Frankie and Woodhouse started long before the point you mentioned.
Re: Frankie Gavin
Smigga, Frankie called people, including me, "fukin priks" because one poster suggested to Arnie that going down the WBU route would be a waste with Frankie, which is a very viable point, IMO. It didn't need that kind of response from Gavin. So to me, he's brought this on himself.

The top and bottom is Frankie thinks Woodhouse isn't in his leage at all, Woodhouse thinks of course he could beat Gavin and they are NEVER going to agree!

Mate have a word, Frankie says some daft stuff BUT no worse than what I say once the camera starts rolling, He's the opposite of bully and let me tell you mate he'll never go lookng for an easy way out.. Too good, too tough and too mentally strong to let that happen.. Your taking 1 remark and blowing it outta context, Yes he called someone a prick, It's a word big deal?? Also his back & forth banter with Curtis is all part of the game, saying you'll knock someone out in boxing is just like saying I'll beat him imo.. I personally believe I can spark anyone who weighs 175.. Just my opinion like
The other questions I saw, Frankie at 140 in 3 years time??
I believe he'll be the face of the 140 division in 2 years time..
Re: Frankie Gavin
While it's possible Gavin will have a title in a couple of years, FW never looks to get his fighters defining fights untill later in their career.
Therefore I can't see him being the face of the 10st division for a good while yet even if everything goes to plan.

Re: Frankie Gavin
Do you like boxers such as Ali or Duran? Both were far more disparaging about their opponents before a bout. If Gavin-Woodhouse happens, let's see how they interact afterwards - I can actually see them getting on well. I don't think he'll crumble at the first signs of problems either, he managed to survive the World Championships which is no easy feat. I was talking to someone yesterday who thinks the world of Gavin because of the way he's helped him, so I think "bully" is a bit much. I don't think either boxer is taking it anywhere close to as seriously as some posters are, it's all harmless verbal's really isn't it?markp wrote:gavin is a nasty piece of work and i hope i don't get banned for saying so and having an opinion.

Agreed. No chance with Fwank that he gets anything more than a WBU belt in 2 years, as good as he is.Coco wrote:While it's possible Gavin will have a title in a couple of years, FW never looks to get his fighters defining fights untill later in their career.

I think it depends on the fighter, how fast he moves him. If it's a ticket seller like Hatton, who gets knocked on his arse in his first big test, he's gonna be careful, especially in a division as dangerous as LW was back then.
Fighters he has real confidence in, like Nas, he moves fast. Maybe Frankie will prove he's the real deal sooner than later, in which case it could be a crafty fast move on a vunerable looking champ, or a vacant title.

get sick of reading gavins gonna be this, gonna be that :!:
he's looked promising so far & look's like he's finding his feet & getting that pro patience aswell as looking more relaxed in each contest & is being brought along nice.im enjoying watching all the new pro's apart from jaffa's last fight.
i'd like to see more of swifty & hope he dont get stuck on the back burner or rushedalong to quickly, tidy little box fighter.

What a load of crap markp. When i boxed Frankie at the MEN over a year ago the lad phoned me next day to see if i was ok, I'd never meet him before the fight. He gave me his Funtime Jacket that meant something personal to him. In over 20 years boxing amateur and pro he is one of the best you could meet. Top lad out of ring and one of the finest in.markp wrote:gavin is a nasty piece of work and i hope i don't get banned for saying so and having an opinion.

In fairness I'm just going off everything I have read from the chap. He does come across like a tosser in his posts and there is no doubt that curtis is winning the popularity contest. As for the bully mentality, well I think there will come a time when gavin finds himself in a real fight and has just been dropped and hurt badly. At that point, most bullies quit. Its just a part of their nature that cannot be overcome. Whether he will or not, remains to be seen. I will give him credit if he doesnt but going off every post I have read, he has that mentality.Bomber 1 wrote:markp wrote:gavin is a nasty piece of work and i hope i don't get banned for saying so and having an opinion.

You're suggesting Frankie Gavin will quit when a fight gets hard because of the way he posts on boxrec!?
You can't pigeon-hole people into categories like that. Not every bully falls apart when bullied back, not every Mexican is tough!(another one of your previous posts
You get to grow up and learn that some people would drive you crazy if you let them.
With regards to your popularity contest, there's no 'boxrec forum likeable' title
Curtis Woodhouse is known by people for being a footballer turned boxer - No offence at all meant.
Frankie Gavin is known and respected nationwide for being a world amateur champion and because he can fight - no gimmicks.
