there's a distinct lack of it mate, on this thread. for a second there it looked as though scottrf may step up, and I had high hopes for crusader.

in terms of stepping up i would say the thread's other participants are a lost cause, though :-?

So the desperate attention-seeker and boxer formerly known as Anthony Small, warns British to 'watch their backs' and that they will burn more poppies next year....etc etc

I know he craves publicity, and doesn't deserve it but there was a poster asking about him this week I think.....
The man totally and utterly disgusts me. A truly vile man in my view.
I second this!! Disgusting!!

Bugger all Simon that's why I'm visiting this thread no more.

Now do you think Wlad will actually get in with Haye or will he leave it to Vitali?
You wont be visiting this thread again because you've been put in your place more like....

I've not read thru either tbh ! Really can't waste time on that horrible James hunt. Why is it these men can spout all this shite while using our hospitals , schools, benefit system. I'd not agree to us being in the war either but I also don't want mine & my family at risk to these fanatic fuckpieces . Don't give them the time of day

Out of interest, John, do you then consider that anyone who takes 'x' line on 'y' subject should lose their entitlement to 'hospitals, schools, benefits system'? Especially when taking into account that there are already laws which could be legitimately used against people preaching violence or looking to cause trouble. Further to that point, we find ourselves living in a time where mass-media is increasingly wary of straying far from accepted topics and concepts, look at DeTocqueville and Chomsky for good explanations of how any dissent is handled by marginalisation in a democracy. Any quiet reasoned protest these days is liable to be ignored, which is why people march/protest/burn things (and like flag-burning, they've gone and spent their own money on something to burn). The problem is that these laws are not evenly applied and rigourously enforced. To establish new laws which penalise people - or their families - for having opinions may seem fine now, but, and this for me is the key stumbling block on which much legislation falls - it assumes honesty and competence in government at a level which does not demonstrably exist. Add to that, what happens when the government decides to re-apply those laws to other protests?
