Very true and being someone that has continually fought the gambling demons throughout my life I know this more than anyone how shit tips/rumours are and I still have nightmares about my biggest ever boxing bet on Ricky to get stopped by Katsidis which I thought was as nailed on as anything I had ever bet on. So I won't be going big but in a 50/50 fight I think 6/1 is worth a little punt and I know I shouldn't but when I think of Burns I can't help but think of when Johansson took him apart. if you cant see the difference between ricky burns then and the ricky burns thats matured into a world champion then theres something wrong! the loss to katsidis for mitchell was at a time when people were saying he was ready for it, and he obviously wasnt.

maybe he can do better and he had a bad night, but if he turns up like he did that night then he loses by a mile. likewise if the burns that fought johannson turned up i think he'd lose, but i think ricky has improved alot more since that loss than mitchell has since his. its up to kevin mitchell to prove that loss was a fluke, cos in my opinion a win over john murray doesnt do that!

I have no connection with Burns, Nelson and nor do I know if the allegation is true or false. I do however know that groundlessly repeating an extremely damaging rumour, without knowing the full facts, is dishonourable and also potentially libelous. I suggest thats why none of this has appeared in the papers. Jessi insinuates Nelson is involved in the drugs trade which is a terrible thing to say when your not in possession of the facts - irrespective of whether its true or not.

There has definitely been no mention of this in any of the scottish news or papers.
The only place i've heard it has been on this thread, sounds more like Mitchell's field tho.....

Is that why mitchell used to come up to billys gym, he wasnt sparring he was checking his crop was growing ok

I havent groundlessly repeated the rumour, and I don't insinuate that he is involved in the drugs trade, I heard a rumor that involved Billy being arrested just a couple of weeks before a big fight and considering he posts updates and personal opinions often on here I thought it might be of great irrelevance !

Well Jessi hopefully this can be cleared up one way or another. I would prefer for "rumours" to not be published unless a clear source is attached to back up your comments.

I enjoy Billy's "diary of a madman" rants! Its good to have someone so closely involved in the fight on the forums but the balance is getting good banter and not silly unsubstantiated comments with no proof. It doesnt help the rep of the forum at all

Kevin deserves this. Proper down to earth fella. Always friendly and gets on with everyone (including his opponents). He never has a bad word to say about any one. So what if he likes the odd glass of beer! Banter or not, Billy has been disrespect full on here. Wants to take a few lessons on how to conduct himself like other trainers - i.e Jimmy Tibbs.

I to enjoy billys rants, and I did ask where has he gone ? Once I was told I just thought I'd post to see if anyone else knew some more, they were rumours and maybe it was silly of me.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the post I wrote concerning Billy Nelson being arrested due to drugs, I hope I was completely wrong, and it certainly wasn't fair of me to write such a rumor true or false ! Apologies again Billy.
