Geale v Mundane 2
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Corbett is a LHW that sometimes fights at HW, but his not really that big. Nickname is the "Carnage". Hasn't lost a fight in about 7 years and has a record of 53-3, with 42 KO's. I doubt he will get the fight.
Actually,c ome to think of it, I would love to see Corbett v Ben Edwards...

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
I rewatched Geale v Mundine 1 on Monday. I ended with 115-113 to Mundine, or 7-4-1. That was different from the score I had last time (114-113 Geale) it was just one of those fights, lots of real close rounds.

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
I'm pretty confident Geale will win this time though. Mundine is still a threat, especially early Buthe has done nothing of note since(the Alvarez fight MAYBE) whilst Geale has improved and is not out of place on a top 20 worldwide p4p list. Mundines legs are gone and Geale will overrun him form round 6 onwards IMO
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Surely Kimbo can't be fighting if his opponent has even been chosen 16 days out from the fight??

Rest assured someone would have already been given the nod.dan h wrote:Surely Kimbo can't be fighting if his opponent has even been chosen 16 days out from the fight??
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Then why would they not have announced it? it will be very odd if it isnt one of the 5 peopple that applied, 3 of who would have a good change of KOing Kimbo

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
I would think one of the easiest to beat of the 5 would already have been given the nod. Either that or someone else has been given the nod and will submit their details very shorty. They won't announce who they have chosen yet because the competition is meant to keep the public guessing and interested in the fight.dan h wrote:Then why would they not have announced it? it will be very odd if it isnt one of the 5 peopple that applied, 3 of who would have a good change of KOing Kimbo
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
The easiest opponent would be Ty C, but not even WA would sanction that fight...

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
There are 6 videos up now. I can't see Kimbo choosing Corbett or Edwards and from what I can see Nasio, Tuivasa and Cerminara aren't pro boxers.
That leaves Tilyard who would be a dangerous choice based on the poor quality of boxers Kimbo has fought so far or someone already chosen but not posted up yet.

Tilyard video must have just went up, i think of all choices he would be the most likely

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Agree. I think it will be Tilyard from those 6 or they will swing a last minute video of someone they have already chosen. Either way the opponent would already have been informed but be sworn to secrecy.dan h wrote:Tilyard video must have just went up, i think of all choices he would be the most likely

It has been announced that Tilyard got the gig.

Seemed to be the obvious choice:TU:Stinger wrote:It has been announced that Tilyard got the gig.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
hey
I'm very interested in this fight.
I have Geale finishing some parlays.
My concern is: Is there a chance that Geale gets robbed.
I dont know how the pubic perception of Geale and Mundine is....
and the fight is in Mundine's backyard...though I believe that Geale as the champ and with his promotion behind him will get a fair shake if not most of the clear rounds...
opinions would be really apreciated!!!

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
I wouldn't say it is in mundines back yard, they are both Aussies, and while mundine is from sydney, he is more known for getting favourable treatment in queensland.
The public perception is, generally speaking, geale is a nice guy and mundine is a loudmouth fool that rarely backs up his ridiculous statements.
Both are extremely talented so it may be a close fight...who knows.

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
The longer it goes the better for Geale. Mundine just won't be able to keep up with his workrate for 12 rounds.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
thanks for the insight!
sometimes, boxing politics can decide the outcome of a fight.
Mundine is controversial, but do the people in Australia see much upside in him (given his age)!?
Does Geale have more fans!?
And Mundine is promoting himself!?
Does Shaw have some deals with Australian TV?

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Daniel Geale's management team is one of the fight's promoters, Gary Shaw has been involved in boxing since 1971 as an official and promoter and seems to have contacts with television companies all over the World.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Is there any other party co-promoting the fight!?
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
Nothing on the card about a third promoter, it would be pretty unusual. There is not that much money in Australian boxing.
The promoters share what is left after all the fighters and officials are paid. It would be getting thin to split three ways.

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
So its Geale's promotion and Mundine himself!?
In Germany, we have Sauerland, who has a deal with TV station ZDF, and they of course have an interest in keeping their champions...so its pretty obvious that they make it very tough for the non Sauerland fighters....just the same as Martinez and Top Rank last week!?
Is there anythig like this in Australia!?
BTW, Green Cameron was very controversial with the weigh ins demanded by Green!

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
So I just watched on the morning news that Anthony Mundine plans to sit down and turn his back during the national anthem as a protest to all the things that whites have done to aboriginals. Disgusting.
Re: Geale v Mundane 2
What are you talking about? The fight was for a cruiserweight title so both fighters had to be 200 pounds or less.Zerwas wrote:So its Geale's promotion and Mundine himself!?

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
That doesn't really bother me to be honest. Its not the anthem of his people so if he doesn't want to embrace that is his choice.Stinger wrote:So I just watched on the morning news that Anthony Mundine plans to sit down and turn his back during the national anthem as a protest to all the things that whites have done to aboriginals. I would probably to the same thing if Austalia was taken over by a Chinese invasion and they changed out anthem to a chinese anthem..

Re: Geale v Mundane 2
I think you will find Mundine has had the national anthem played at his previous fights and never complained about it. He will stop at nothing trying to draw attention to himself. He knows no decency boundaries.Stinger wrote:So I just watched on the morning news that Anthony Mundine plans to sit down and turn his back during the national anthem as a protest to all the things that whites have done to aboriginals.
