Reading between the lines they were just sponsored by the council, but to be politically correct they had to say that they also worked for the council - Price was described as an apprentice plumber (although I am not sure how much "work" they did ?).

Both Smith and Bellew were described as "trainee accountants" with the council.
I am not sure if anybody else got this funding - boxers or from other sports - (or indeed how it came about, or what the criteria was), but it would be interesting to hear how it worked or if any of the boxers had to do any actual work.
Well i never knew that. I do know bomber has his AAT qualification so presumably that's linked in somehow. The thought of price trying to squeeze under a sink or down under a bath does crack me up tho.

And I seem to remember Bomber being a trained accountant or something along those lines? So i think they did. As for Tyson Fury is he turning into the British Ricardo Mayorga accept minus the smoking or is it me?
