Lewis had a good chin and shipped a lot of heavy shots throughout his career. It's not like he only got hit twice during his whole career is it? There was, and still might be, a video on YouTube which was fairly long showing nothing but Lewis taking big punches off opponents.

People are jumping on the "price has a glass chin bandwagon" far to early, it was a punch around the back of the ear that made him clearly loose his Sences in a way he had never experienced before, until he gets knocked OUT from a shot on the actual CHIN ! I won't right him off.

Youse guys make me sick! Da only reason dat boid Price kissed da canvas is cause Thompson landed him a good clip behind da ear-hole. He lost his whadda ya calls it his equilbrilium and fell over. Chances are it won't ever happen again. Get da kid back in da ring asap and he'll be mowing them down again, and then he'll put finis to dat Fury bloke.

Bunce said earlier this week that a straight rematch with Thompson is almost a done deal.

As for Price's punch resistance, I think it will turn out to be the case that he cannot take a proper punch. The jury may be out at the moment but that's my take on it. Fans excusing the way he crumbled against Thompson may have to revise their view in due course, as his career continues and he takes other punches along the way. But good luck to him

I’m sure he doesn’t have Chuvalo style punch resistance. He may even be a little bit chinny…

But I still believe there was something in the explanation…the burst ear drum…because the punch was so innocuous that he’d never have gotten this far if Price can’t take a shot like that…

The ref for Tim Bradley did the count…wiped the gloves…asked if he was okay…took a few more secs before waving it back on…where was he when Liverpool’s big man needed him?

The chin ussue does go back a long way though to his am days.

I think the most important thing for Price, in terms of moving forward, is fighting in a way that is going to protect his chin. My main concern with the fight wasnt really that he got KO'd its more that alot of the emphasis was placed on how the shot was a 'freak occurrence'. Sure, it caught him in an odd place and getting hit on/ behind the ear is gonna mess with your balance, but there are two issues that really stood out for me...

One was that the shot really 'snapped' his neck hard which I'm not convinced would have happened to someone who could take a punch better (thats a speculative opinion though, so might not be worth mentioning). The second however is the real problem for me and I haven't heard it addressed by Price... What was he doing in so close looking to let his hands go? He's actually trying to get his own shots off when he gets hit and he is way closer than he needs to be. Its not like he got caught by some long, reaching hook, it was a short hook that landed behind the ear while Price was looking to land a right hand. He has the length to take his chin out of the equation and needs to focus on staying out of range. My concern is that next time he is in that situation against a puncher he will get caught with a proper man sized hook to the chin and there'll be no room to talk about 'freak punches'.

As for what's next, I'd like to see a confidence builder followed by a rematch with Thomspon....

So.... there we had this guy Price and he was in there for those two rounds with Tony Thompson landing one vicious shot on Thompson after another, backing Thompson up, making him miss, like really just landing at will on him and slugging away on poor Thompson, as the fight was progressing it looked as if Thompson was becoming desperate and frustrated by Price's awesome boxing abilities, Price maintained perfect control of the fight and probably won the first round something like 10-8 and was well on his way to win the second one in similar fashion when that "freak punch" connected and destroyed Price's dreams......

That's not what happened, Price did not have Tony figured out for even a second of the fight, Price wasn't ever in control for those two rounds, Price looked to be a bit lost in there really not knowing what to do against his opponent while Thompson looked calm, comfortable and in control, it would be utterly foolish to believe that a second meeting between these two fighters would end in any other way than another Tony win.

If this David Price fellow really is this "excellent prospect" that you guys are claiming him to be then what must be said of Tony Thompson????... Well then Thompson must obviously then be the second coming of Muhammed Ali himself.
