battling nelson-christy williams
Good guess But that fight went 17 rounds and had a total of 49 knockdowns, which comes to just under 3 knockdowns per round. The record is a lot more then that!

That's OK, I do that all the time.
I still have 3 that need to be answered.
1. What former World Contender said, "to see a white man really worrying about me changed my whole life."
Hint: He fought for a World Title but lost, he also fought 3 other Champions in non-title fights beating 2 of them.
2. What fighter was 'shark-proof?
He never got a shot at the title But he did fight 2 Champions. All his loses were by knockouts
3. What fight, lasting more than 1 round, produced the most knockdowns per round?
All the fighters fought in the same weight class!

I don't know, if he's the one you're looking for... but I believe Rolando Navarrete fits the profile.
Correct!

That's who I was thinking about But some sources say that Puerto Rico is an island nation (an unincorporated territory) in the Carribean Sea. This sets it geography apart from that of any continent, and it is not considered a part of one. Just as the island nation of Cuba is not considered a part of North America (or any other continent), so is Puerto Rico not considered a part of any continent.
Others have Puerto Rico is both physically and politically a part of North America. It is a Caribbean Island, however, these islands are grouped with North America. It is also a part of the US, so it is politically a part of North America.
So it would depend if you count PR or not, But that is the only one I can come up with too. If Bundana also has that I would think that is the answer your looking for.
As I understand it, Puerto Rico is indeed part of North America.

I don't know if it's the record, but according to BoxRec:
In 1927 Miguel Ferrara lost in the 4th round against Victorio Campolo - after being floored 36 times!
That's an average of 9 knockdowns per round.

He spent more time on the canvas than fighting.

I had four world title chances and failed each time.
In those fights, I had two draws.
I was stopped the other two times and floored a total of seven times in the four bouts.
Three of the bouts were in my homeland, and one was in the champion's homeland.
I never fought again after the last of the four.
The title fights all occurred in the same division.

I had two title shots.
I lost them both.
I was stopped both times.
They were in the same division.
I fought in my opponent's home country both times.
Neither of my opponents lost his title in the ring.
I made it one round longer in my second challenge than I did in my first one.

Fairly easy one
I got a title shot against an ATG, floored them twice and managed to get a draw against them.
After that fight I had 10 more fights losing 9 of them.
EDIT: Sorry Rover, was in the process of posting this question and didn't notice you had posted one !!!

Is 3 not Dempsey-Firpo? Wasn't there 11 knockdowns in two rounds?

AMAZING isn't it!
I have a Ring 8 meeting in New York later today. Most of the time we have several ex-world Champions in attendance.
I have a few others on the same object:
1. What fight had the most knockdowns (both fighters) in which the fight went the distance?
2. What fighter was knockdown the most times, in which the fight when the distance?
3. Since 1960, what fight had the most amount of knockdowns?

This is the best I can come up with:
1. 1941: Maxie Doyle (3) W pts 10 Jim Merritt (20)... for a total of 23 knockdowns.
2. 1946: Jose DeMedina is down 21 times when losing a 10-rounds decision against Jimmy Jeannette.
3. 1962: Yama Bahama stops Don Carrano in 7 - in a fight where Don is down 15 times.

Very Good my Friend!
I have to leave pretty soon but here's a few more:
1. Who was stopped in the 1st round the most times during their pro career?
2. What fighter(s) hold the record for being stopped in the 1st round the most consecutive times?

James Holly lost a few in the first. 29 I think.
