86-84 Stiverne.

Stiverne is in complete control right now. Arreola is game as hell but Stiverne is fighting beautifully. Arreola has had a decent round. Nice right just before the bell.
87-85 Stiverne
Arreola has a problem with his left shoulder or hand or something.

That right to the bod has been key to this fight. Arreola not working then lands a decent left , nice right, but Stiverne is just outboxing him.
97-94 Stiverne

96-93 Stiverne.

That bodywork has accumulated on arreola. Arreola does not seem to have enough punch to hurt Stiverne. Arreola just does not seem to have much left at all. Stiverne is tired but Arreola is exhausted.
107-103 Stiverne

106-102 Stiverne.

116-111 Stiverne for me.

This has been a damned good HW fight. Lets see what happens in 12. Arreola needs a KO on my card. They are both going for it. trading. Both tired. Stiverne wants to finish. Throwing heavy. Left Arreola. Stiverne trying to finish this show. Nice right Arreola. Stiverne digging to the bod. Arreola has little to nothing left but he is still there.
Stiverne was VERY, VERY impressive this evening.
117-112 Stiverne
Stiverne's bodywork was the difference along with the consistent hard jab and the big right in round 3.

117-110 x2
118-109
Stiverne UD
I'm shocked this went the distance.

Serve me up a slice of humble pie I guess...I said Stiverne had no chance in this fight. Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. Good performance by Stiverne

Same. If he had any chance at all, it was to land a bomb--or so I thought.

Martinez won fair and square. I only gave Murray 4 rounds. Sure he landed the harder shots of the fight but you can't win many rounds when you do next to nothing the wide majority of the 3 minutes in that Arthur Abraham shell and your opponent is consistently landing jabs and lefts to the body. Guys with that style of plod forward with the hands high and try to sharp shoot are always going to lose competitive/close decisions because they simply get outworked.
Martinez's age and physical wear and tear are finally catching up to him and I don't see him lasting the next year and a half without a loss.

As I've said for many years, Arreola sucks.

He doesn't suck, Stiverne is just that great. Arreola is still top 5 [/sarcasm].

Good analysis of the fight.
I don't know how long Martinez will be out due to injuries from it.
I think he'd win a Chavez rematch later in the year. I could see him still as champ at the end of next year.

I guess no matter how much weight he loses, he'll always be a tub of goo.
Yeah, even at 230-235 where they were saying he'd wanted to come in at, he'd still be a porker.

The best I can tell is that he has probably been doing a lot more cardio than he used to, and probably a ton of sparring.
He needs to get stronger and sharper, but sparring alone isn't going to accomplish that.
And quite honestly his diet is probably contributing to his lack of intellect and clarity in there. He looks like someone who eats like crap.
I doubt a better diet would improve his intellect.
I find his post-fight interviews funny.

He doesn't even run. The fact of the matter is that he would be a Cruiserweight if he got in shape and he'd be pathetically slow there & get his ass whipped for a lot less money.
