I don't think it would've made any difference to the outcome of the fight if Corbin had been allowed to stick around so I won't argue with you, but this explains why so many of you guys think the Arreola-Stiverne 2 stoppage was too late. You guys are used to referees jumping the gun, and stopping fights very early. Basically at the first or second sign of a guy being stunned.

I would have stopped Arreola after the second KD, he could barely stand up straight. Corbin was finished nothing early about it.

I won't argue with that, but I don't feel like he took all that much punishment after rising from the 2nd knockdown he only got hit with about 3 or 4 more clean shots after that out of about 9 or 10, but I certainly wouldn't be calling for Jack Reiss to be banned from the sport or anything like some fans did. I felt like the stoppage was reasonably done, and it was a VERY high stakes fight so there was a lot on the line. Understandable that Reiss gave Arreola a fighting chance.

I don't have any real problem with the stoppage in Cleverly vs Corbin. It just seems like early stoppages are the norm in the UK.

Yeah we do have a early stoppage rep and rightly so in some bad cases. I agree with you the calling for Jack Reiss to be banned was overboard but as a ref the boxers health is in their hands and timing is crucial. Arreola looked finished after kd 2with nothing else to offer and that was exactly the case, I suppose the extra few punches just underlined it for people but they weren't entirely necessary.. Sometimes the ref has to stick his neck out and end the show. for the fighters sakes. Not the fans.

Against Yordan he was a boxer-move against John he looked more like an in the pocket boxer IIRC. He's a clever counter puncher though can be made to look lazy. Think a bit of a hybrid who can do a lot depending on the opponent though. I'd avoid his fight with Hasegawa as both were...looking for the other to lead.

Selby looked amazing against British opponents but...yeah...he doesn't look great here despite the commentators sucking him off
