Agree. He would swing wild, and a lot of the body shots were blocked. The crowd went wild whenever he threw anything, whether landed or not.

chasing the pussy around and landing the better shots.
since when can someone ran like a track star and win a round off a few flicking jabs?

7-5 canelo, Lara landed the cleaner heard shots, but usually only 2-3 per round and then ran the rest of it. Canelo landed the heavier body shots and pressed the action. I think Lara gave this fight away, if he was more aggressive he would have won.

Fortunately for him, he wasn't just running. He was poppin' off long shots from distance.
Canelo was not landing significant offense in the early rounds.

Ever watch sweet pea Whitaker?

9-3 Canelo is one of the most absurd scorecards of the year.

Whatever. Boxing.

A few flicking jabs and flush left crosses.

Went like I thought from the posts. The more agressive guy got the nod, no surprise.
Very few fighters win without taking the agressive role for at least part of the fight.

If Mayweather did what Lara did, it would be 118-110 for Floyd.

Lara thoroughly outboxed in I thought. Canelo looked bad a lot of times. I can't see winning with a body attack only. Lara landed many more jabs, and 99% of the clean hard shots to the head.

Levi Martinez had the fight 9-2 going into the 12th. He then gave Lara the last round which is totally absurd.

Too much money.

Lara's problem....aggression is usually rewarded in Vegas.

His biggest problem....he's a non-english speaking cuban with no fan base.

That's how I saw it and there were a few of those rounds where the crowd were going wild that were clear Lara rounds.... I get why people don't like his style, but you cant score rounds to a guy just because he wants to go to war and keeps walking forward.... The clean work was all coming from Lara.

I'm at work.Just reading the posts from 4 different forums.I'll watch fight when I get home.
But I have seen some of the craziest differences on everyone scorecards.
Everyone saw this fight different in every round.
because they came into the fight cheering for someone, or had money riding on it.
I don't care who wins any fight. I just want to see a good fight.
In order to score you have to land. only one of the two was even trying to land,
and despite what you hear, canelo was absolutely DIGGING into lara's body.

Well, I guess we don't have to worry about Mayweather vs Lara anymore. Canelo vs Mayweather II is also pointless.

Exactly. Lara was running around the ring the entire fight. Canelo was the aggressor landing body shots. I can't believe Lara even got a 115-113 score.

Canelo was TRYING hard to land, while Lara was actually landing. "Ineffective aggression" is the great term to this Canelo's performance. He is lucky that his opponent was Cuban.

Whitaker made a living out of running and winning did nothing offensive in a fight and would win.

trying to land doesn't make lara buckle forward and make a loud BOOM noise.
look, you can see canelo's gloves digging into the body. you must have been
watching it on your iphone.
LARA landed very few significant punches all night AND... HE... RAN... AWAY...
there would have been more action if lara wasn't running in the other direction.
lara could have maybe landed more if he wasn't running in the other direction.
vast majority of lara's punches completely inconsequential and 99% of the fight
he was running in the opposite direction of canelo. lara did nothing to earn most
of those rounds. how in your mind does "ineffective aggression" score lower than
running in the other direction without punching?

funny because I watched whitaker from the Olympic trials onward and
there is no resemblance whatsoever, especially in terms of what
canelo did to lara tonight

This pretty much sums up my view, though I'd have no problem with those who see it the other way.
