Fury didn't fancy a fit Ustinov and got rattled by people saying Ustinov had been training for him so he pulled out. It's that simple.
When you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk. Otherwise you become a bit of a joke yourself and that's what's happened here.

I don't know why some of you ever signed up.
I almost always record the international stuff and watch it the next day.
It's not difficult to avoid boxing results, the mainstream media and general public rarely mention boxing.

Peter Fury has released a statement about his brother, so all these people 'in the know' saying it was something else obviously weren't in the know..
Personally I think if a close family member takes seriously ill, it is a good enough reason, but I also think a broken hand is. But Fury has done himself no favours going on aba Haye and Chisora after they pulled out.

People are far far to invested in boxing at times. It's like they prefer the actual drama over the fights, from the froch/groves mind games, the mayweather gloves, the haye conspiracies, to Tyson Fury being a joke and a hypocrite for pulling out of a fight because his uncle is in an unexpected and critical condition.
I appreciate Tyson runs his mouth a lot, says crude things and disparages opponents, but im fairly sure its all done in the art of "selling the fight". He doesnt strike me as a man who takes himself to seriously.
And for those that seem to think a critical situation with his uncle isn't enough to warrant a pull out, what men do you think were there for him when his dad F*cked up? guided him through his career and offered him and his family support? I have uncles and aunts i couldn't care less about, others id drop most things in a second to be beside. Every Family relationship is unique.
Peter Fury does strike me as a man of some class BTW.

Bullies are always cowards. They pick on little guys and are afraid to fight someone their own size.

A post so good you posted it twice in different threads.
Wlad is a bigger bully than Fury.

If Tyson didn't want to box, he could easily have pulled out as soon as Del did or knock back Ustinov when offered as a potential opponent. Why on earth would he weigh in and change his mind? There's more to it than meets the eye.

Fury is getting ridiculed mainly because of all the rubbish he spouts; all of the criticisms he's levelled at other fighters recently are now being levelled at him.
Fans are rightly pissed off at his late withdrawal for a pretty spurious reason. Simply put, I don't think if Fury was due to be boxing for a world title last night he would have pulled out.

So the statement released today isn't the full story?

Posters 'in the know' yesterday said the uncle situation wasn't the full story. Although they were saying that before the statement was released today, so either those posters are not really in the know, or the statement isn't the whole truth.

Ok, pal, a man with his own magazine, a travelling man connected to friends, and me, who probably knows people a lot closer to him than you are not "in the know". We are not idiots sat behind a keyboard guessing.

I'm not saying they're not 'in the know', but they clearly implied yesterday that there was more to the story than was being reported. Fair enough, but the statement released today just confirmed what had already been said. So understandably people are a bit confused by the whole thing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not pretending to be in the know at all, I'm just trying to piece together why a fight I was looking forward to was called off on the day.

If you're in the know then tell people what you know. Otherwise , "travelling man" or not, just keep out of it. People have to judge Fury on what HE has said has happened. Not on vague rumours saying something else is to blame.

No worries, his uncle is poorly so that will do as a reason. They're extremely close.

many people with 9-5 jobs couldnt ring up in the morning and take the day off if their uncle died never mind being i'll. If Fury feels that his uncle was more important than this fight then thats fair enough, like has been said every family relationship is unique im assuming they are very close.
However after all the "i'd fight if i was blind, nothing will keep me out of the ring" stuff then i think he really opened himself up to flack from fans.
Let me ask you this - What would Fury be saying if Ustinov had pulled out the morning of the fight and said it was because his uncle
was seriously ill????
Also due to it being the morning of the fight i couldnt cancel my hotel room because i had to give 24 hours notice and the site i bought the tickets through were only offering a refund up until 12pm friday which had passed. So i ended up with a fairly poor night of boxing in a very empty arena that cost me £400 im not all that impressed.
I even missed all the heffron and williams fans fighting because i went to the bar.

Right enough Finn i forgot you were going, watching it on tv i thought it was a decent nights boxing but id be gutted if i was in your shoes, you win some, you lose some ay
Ive made it clear in other posts that if Fury wasnt focused and in bits then he was right to call off the fight, the same way as i thought he was wrong to slam Chisora
I agree with Fury pulling out but i also agree that he deserves the pelters he's getting, what goes around......

Finn, the lads don't have 9-5 jobs and would rather starve than been told to go to work when a loved one is badly. I wouldn't dream of letting someone tell me to go to work if my uncle was critical. I'd walk. Money comes and goes...

Right.
The official reason, that Peter Fury has released, is a SHIT reason for costing all those people their money and time.
Full fornicating stop.
Yes his uncle wasn't well but fornicate it. That is bollocks. He's asked people to pay money to watch him then fucked them over.
Boo fornicating hoo his uncle isn't well. My mother died, I went to work. Get fornicating over it.

The fights were decent but i always think lighter punchers like BJS are better watched on tv, watching it from 30 meters away it doesnt look like shots are connecting. It wasnt a bad night of boxing but i went into the toilets on the way out and most people were saying it was a let down after the expectation of the fury fight, and one guy said it was a bit of a damp squib which is how i would put it.
I think most people felt the Eubank fight was the best part of the night and that only lasted 82 seconds.

I bet Tyson would have waited until Sunday morning to go the hospital if there was 4 million quid waiting for him.
I wonder how much money would he require to fight Ustinov, more than he was getting for Chisora?
You could tell Fury was getting the willies with this talk of 'going in blind ' (against Ustinov) .

Most would have to make the call of this effecting their careers and likely being disciplined or sacked. Furys made his decision and it means that a good portion of people who paid to see him wont bother paying again and im one of them.
Is his uncle dead? Dying? Or is the possibility of him dying high? If its none of those then he doesnt have a valid excuse for pulling out of the fight. If it is one of those then thats a different matter.
