slightly O/T but did anyone hear the radio coverage after the fight?

the 'interview' with Frampton was a little bit farcical, IMO. why? well, Tony Bellew was obviously a bit excited. instead of the usual interview format- ask question, wait for response- we had Tony basically telling him at great length how well he'd done not to fight emotionally, etc etc. as interviews go it was about 1/12 Frampton 11/12 Bellew.
I did the BBC thing....and as mentioned above, Bellew was actually a bit of revelation in the build-up and the fight itself. Made some well judged comments, described the action really well and what each fighter needed to do. But he did get a bit over-excited during the interview stage and Mike Costello, the professional broadcaster, should have managed Tony a bit and got more questions in himself. But Tony was actually pretty good value...and that's said as someone whose not previously been a fan of his. Overall, it was a great listen.

Good points mate and i agree, and should have said i did enjoy tony's work the rest of the broadcast
and i have always been s bit of a fan of his and fight build-ups aside i have always liked how he conducts himself. The interview just made me cringe a bit

Is it me or is the Frampton / Quigg fight loosing its appeal because it has become clear that Frampton is a level above Quigg

I've no idea what level Quigg is at with his matchmaking unfortunately!

Thing is Quigg hasn't learnt anything since the Salinas fight.

Silva and Munyai were complete knockovers who moved up a weight. Jamoye based on the beating he got in Japan a few months ago I can't see him getting to round 6

Quigg should have gone straight back in with Salinas , who in fairness didn't look to far short of world level.

I massivley prefer Frampton but quigg has got what it takes to challenge at the top just the same, I'd like to see hi give Martinez a shot just to establish himself. I appreciate he may get a bit of stick after kiko lost twice to frampton but it would be a very good fight between 2 top 10 guys.

Salinas looked rubbish against Quigg. Quigg should have dealt with him easily.

I agree that Quigg should have taken the rematch and performed properly, without Gallagher's nutty very low workrate strategy.

Martinez has just been widely beaten on points. It's the wrong time to fight him.

Why bring up Quigg vs Martinez. Martinez doesn't bring anything.
If Quigg beat Rigondeaux he would be the real WBA champion and #1 in the division.

Salinas was knocked out by a 15-7 guy in his last fight though which doesnt look great now.

When Frampton fights Quigg it will be one of those when I sort of cheer both men on…willing whoever is losing to get back into it… Love both guys.

But Quigg seems to have stalled since Munroe. What I mean is he needs a test…his opposition has not been good enough…it used to feel like the guys were neck and neck…with each man getting their nose in front with each fight…but Frampton has clearly gone out in front now…

But having said that I feel this is a 50-50 fight still.

I dont see it that way myself. I think Frampton moves a lot better than Quigg whose line of defense just seems to be having a high guard vs using his feet aswell to move out of the way of punches and Frampton clearly has a better chin aswell and I just think an all round better skillset. Quigg is still one of the better guys in the division but I think Frampton is better. I'd be interested to see how Quigg dealt with Martinez. If he dealt with him in better fashion then I might change my mind.

exactly how I see it apart from the last line...I think you have to have Frampton slight favourite now if only because his recent opposition mean he'll be so much better prepared.

Quigg's feet aren't quick enough to put Frampton under pressure, by the time he got into range he'd have been picked off and Frampton would have moved away. Quigg's a better fighter than Kiko, but because Frampton's defence is mostly centered around footwork, fighting Quigg is an easier night for him than Martinez, who's not as skilled as Quigg, but he comes in a lot quicker and he struggled to get close enough to Frampton to get anything big off.

I know can't find a video anywhere as well!!!

From what I can remember he was quite useful. Thought Quigg nicked the fight but like other posters are mentioning too low work rate early rounds.
