I said before if you can read????? The show couldn't b made due to all the fighters on it! I didn't say if bellew v cleverly was the only fight it couldn't be made.
Next time it might b worth reading the statements before coming on like a clown
I can read and I'm not a child...so in return, have some respect, don't stoop to childish comments and don't be rude. Its like you are frothing at the mouth in defence of this event, relax and breath.
I see what you are saying and thanks for explaining. I see it different that is all.
But the thing is mate I agree with what everyone is saying! The difference is I am a realist. I know this isn't value for money and I don't for 1 minute condone this but what I say is the card eddie has put on has to be Ppv to work as sky pay buttons.
If I had my way I would have made 7 quality 50/50 fights and then I don't think anyone would have moaned, but as it stands eddie is just putting most of his fighters in with garbage

Probably allot less than £1 a month goes towards Eddie Hearn/boxing from your sky sports subscription.
The show could never be made without it being PPV,
As you have been rude to others, you are talking bollocks mate.
Firstly I couldn't give a flying one how much goes to Matchroom - I am sure that Eddie (driving his brand new Bentley to his Essex mansion) isn't in the game out of the goodness of his heart - he is making some serious dough.
Secondly, of course this show could be made without PPV.
The costs are the costs, the income is the income - and if the costs are higher than the income then 1 of 2 things can happen to correct this imbalance :
- Either increase your income (i.e. PPV)
- or, reduce your costs (i.e. have less bouts on the undercard and/or pay Bellew and Cleverley less)
You are just considering the first option as this is the only option available.
The inference from Matchroom is that this fight has to be PPV as Bellew and Celverley are getting paid a large amount.
I don't know how much Bellew and Cleverley are getting paid, but neither of them are in a position to demand mega bucks. They get paid what they get paid in order to fit into the break-even/profitability for the fight - if they don't like it then they can always turn the fight down and go elsewhere.

what gets my goat is fans of every other sport are treated fairly on sky sports, fans of golf, darts, tennis, rugby, football and whatever else get to watch the marquee events of their sports for the price of a subscription fee, we pay the same for sh!t shows then have to pay more for slightly better but not marquee shows.

What has eddies wealth got to do with it? He could b a multi billionare but he obviously is a business man and should be getting paid for working!

Yeah, not sure exactly how you can compare Nathan and Tony with the two biggest commercial entities in world boxing who both very clearly transcend the sport.

Get in the real world!
Considering some of your comments regarding the intelligence of other posters you are thick as fornicate mate.
Mayweather and Pac can demand the purses that mean a PPV is necessary - Bellew and Cleverley cannot.
To suggest that Bellew/Cleverly have the pedigree, quality and stature to demand the kind of purses that make PPV necessary is utter shite.
It is quite a simple conversation to the boxers, "here is the fight, here is the purse - do you want it or not?" - it is not as if there is some kind of public demand for this fight (like say Froch/Groves 2), or even if either boxer were particularly popular outside of their own towns.
If these 2 were not going to fight each other, then who else could they fight - especially for the money they are getting ? It is not as if they both have loads of options available to them.
It is quite simple really - rich boy Eddie is using this to test the water, if this gets through then it will open the floodgates for other below standard PPV events.

Get in the real world!
That's the point he's making. With the current purses, maybe the fight can't be made, but if you paid them less and lets be honest, neither are in a position to be making demands, it could be made without PPV. But that's an idea you have blindly dismissed as not possible, because it isn't the same as your viewpoint. It's a very simple point too, to make the numbers add up, you either have to bring more money in, or spend less. In this case they have tried to bring more money in, in an attempt to line the pockets of Hearn/Sky, by conning people out of their money. That is not the only way to do it though.
Comparing Mayweather-Pacquiao to Cleverly-Bellew is outright stupid. A fight between Floyd and Manny has to be PPV, because the money both would want for that fight can't be generated without PPV and neither could be convinced to take less money, as they are the biggest draws in boxing and the best paid fighters in the world, so they could make huge demands, as there is/was, huge demand to see the fight. Cleverly and Bellew on the other hand, aren't big draws, in the grand scheme of things are complete nobodies and there's no huge demand to see the fight, so they're in little position to make demands about what they're paid, this is the biggest money either can get, so they'll have to take what's on offer.

I'm not even saying there is a huge demand for people to see clev bellew so it has to be Ppv im simply saying the bill as it stands can't be made on sky's money.
The guy before said it can be made not Ppv just lower there money or get rid of the under card. Yes that would make it not Ppv but that's not going to happen is it.
I made the point well I could say when mayweather fights paceman I could say pay them less and it doesn't have to be Ppv, anyone can say that, there just words in the real world it doesn't work like that eddie has tried to put a big bill on and told everyone it will be a great card he has put big names on and most of them are in 80-20 fights but as he has done this the card can not be made without Ppv anyone who can't see that is insane

I understand them fine mate, but again when someone comes on saying just make them take less money or get rid of the under card, anyone can say that about any fighters/card but it doesn't mean it is going to happen does it.
I use mayweather as an example I could say just don't pay him as much then it won't be Ppv,
The point in this whole conversation is as this stands it must be made Ppv or not happen at all.
It is no good saying pay them less or get rid of the undercard that's not going to happen

Can you imagine the uproar if SKY suddenly decided to make Swansea v Arsenal on Sunday PPV as the costs of taking the TV trucks to Wales make it impossible to show on normal SKY Sports, yet boxing fans are having to put up with this and no murmur from anyone bar people on here

Yeh there would be an uproar and rightly so but the difference mate is we pay 95%+ of our sky sports subscription for football so we would all have a right to moan! As I have said earlier less than £1 of your sports subscription goes on boxing so that's why this purticular Bill needs to be Ppv to be made.
If you think about it u pay Ppv for football because u pay 95% of your sky sports subscription to football and then u have to buy bt sport and what ever else just for football but it's funny the way no one says a word about that????

The fact of the matter is ,its on PPV and its not PPV worthy,If Fast Car has over paid the fighters that should come out of his own pocket
Nobodies too arsed about this rematch either and the undercards mainly walkovers, there are no world title fights
I pay for Bnation and Fwank doesnt need to fleece me out extra money to justify paying for the Chisora/Fury show where there are all pretty much 50/50 fights

I pay for Bnation and Fwank doesnt need to fleece me out extra money to justify paying for the Chisora/Fury show where there are all pretty much 50/50 fights
Some good points mate but again people forget they pay £12 a month every month which is the same as eddie having a Ppv every single month. Like iv said sky give eddie next to nothing for his shows so that's why he has made it Ppv.
I could guarentee u that if every single sky sports subscriber gave eddie £12 a month for boxing he would put on 50 times better shows than what he puts on at the moment but the fact is he works on a budget so when he does do a big show or I should say when he puts all his stars on the one show he needs to make it Ppv to work
