I'd rather see Fury fight wlad and Wilder fight Haye if he comes through a couple of warm ups. I think Wlad would pick Wilder apart if it came to it.

Stivern to win the early rounds with Wilder doing little other than throw the odd hopeful bomb.
Stivern to survive a few hairy moments in the mid rounds and drop a couple rounds, but wilder will punch himself out trying to find the finish and his lack of 12 round experience will lead to stiverne taking the last few rounds to take the fight 115-112, Stiverne down once in the 5th.

Rematch scheduled for summer in Canada

I don't know whether or not you're being serious but I thought I was the only one who sees a 12 rounder here. They are not going to be taking risks with each others power. Stiverne will be waiting for Wilder to commit and meanwhile Wilder will be cognizant of not committing too much and getting countered. Meanwhile Wilder will be marginally winning the rounds. I don't really see fireworks in this one.
Completely serious mate. Not sure my detailed round for round plan for the fight will pan out as i've said but it seems a possible series of events.

Too many times we see 2 bangers get into the ring and the assumption is there has to be a knockout.
The fans and pundits alike have told us there is no way on gods green earth this can go 12 rounds
But the reality is, they are bangers because they've been bowling over bums and when they face their first real challenger who also packs a dig, the plotline of their fights changes radically.
yes, both man hits hard, but it takes more than being heavy handed to knock guys out at a higher level. And this is the highest level either man has competed at

I might be wrong and there may be a quick stoppage. But i predict that it will not only be a 12 rounder it will be far from the explosive affair everyone predicts because both men will fight cautiously for the vast majority of the fight.

115-112 Stiverne!
Ok, I got the result wrong.
But I must have been one of only 3 people on the internet who realised this might just go the distance.

No one is commenting in how uninterested and let's be honest, ordinary Stiverne was.

The most interesting thing about this fight is who is the worst heavyweight champ ever? Seldon or Stiverne?

Ps i have Seldon on points

See my post, he was crap. Talent wise Seldon was definately better - Stiverne doesn't have a win like an aging Tucker under his belt. However, no one can forgive Seldon for the Tyson stunt.

Stiverne was a clueless as Lepai vs Klitchsko, I think Lepai went out on his shield a bit more. I think there was too much "unproven" criticism of Wilder before hand and now there is too much praise. He went 12 rounds fine, but in the main he was facing a punch bag. I was a little concerned with how Wilder's corner were really trying to gee him up as if they also have doubts - "he is tired TOO" they were saying.

Bruce Seldon in his prime would easily beat Stiverne - his fine jab would soon bust up that stationary head.

Seldon had talent and didn't give his all in the Tyson fight.

Stiverne has limited talent and didn't appear to give his all. He's in a special class, way down there with Sam Peter.

24 hours ago Stiverne had too much experience and was going to KO Wilder because Wilder had only fought bums. 24 hours later Stiverne is just average and probably the worst HW champion ever, and no credit given to Wilder because he beat yet another bum. My God you guys change your opinions pretty fast.

Don't think anyone saw Stiverne as anything but average and a poor champion, but everyone thought that Wilder was shit, so he'd win. As it turned out, Stiverne is very, very average and Wilder is slightly less shit than most people thought.

Just seen this result. Dear oh dear oh dear.

If anything I'd have backed the Canadian-Haitian to flatten him. I now boast the dubious honour of having seen a future Heavyweight title holder in the flesh  .

Not only did people under estimate Wilders abilities, they are failing to give him credit for his intelligence as well. Some of the people on here are saying exactly what he anticipated they would say when he spoke before the fight.

Wilder answered a lot of questions and is bringing excitement to a division that needs it badly.

i dont think wilder is a massive puncher, we are all bigging it up as if stiverne has a chin like oliver mccall. tyson was 5 times the puncher wilder was, and more intimidating. As for ali and tyson not winning titles now...i agree that ali would not as he is/was too small, but tysons advantage was his height, he could get under and inside peoples jabs etc then detonate his rib breakers then massive headwork as the opponents hands came down.

Stiverne's chin was excellent although he was decked in the 2nd and he fell back down as he tried to rise but nonetheless Bermane can take a shot

I expect Wilder's stamina to improve now he has 12 rounds under his belt

A lot of these fights that seem "nailed on" to end by KO end up going the distance. Haye vs Klitschko was another that everyone thought would end in a KO either way. Abraham Froch was another one. Kirkland vs Angulo was one that I was absolutely convinced would end with a KO though.

Because if Chisora, Pulev and Stiverne can't do it - those three peaks of ring IQ, technical skill and bellyfire - then Muhammad Ali has no chance!

O but for the golden age of slicksters like Puritty, Brewster, Sanders, Peter! They scored 10 of Dr Steel Chin's 15 knockdowns, but they were of course all-time Greats of the very highest calibre. Sanders' physique psyched out men before the opening bell. And Peter was the fighter Sugar Ray Robinson could've been, had he weighed 300lbs.

Ali decided not to dance around Foreman because he was too big.

And Ali was able to punch with Foreman because he was so much quicker and more precise than a power mad brute. Foreman would seem like lightspeed compared to these monstrosities who huff & puff about the ring today.

Another pertinent point is that Ali found a way to KO Foreman - one of the greatest chins in heavyweight history. A 50 year old Foreman walked down Shannon Briggs and shrugged off his power punches like they were slaps from a woman. Anyone think Wladimir Klitscho would shrug off a clean power punch even from the now-ancient Shannon Briggs?

Different dimensions of toughness. If having the same frame meant you were the exact same quality of fighter then Audley Harrison would be Lennox Lewis.

And Foreman was only 6ft 3ins and 215lbs - a giant then but average now.
