If Campbell doesn't beat Coyle I'll give up watching the sport. Levels apart, absolute certainty Campbell wins.

Watched both lads since they were schoolboys and nothing has changed since their beginnings really. I had a lad who beat tommy 3 out of 4, saw coyle get stopped by Andy Townsend, saw him pull back a 7 point(massive deficit in old scoring) going into last rd to win a national title. Coyle finished up a two time national champion through stubbornness basically. This however will only prolong the beating at the hands of Campbell whose jab and right hook will tattoo tommy for as long as it lasts. In the build up Tommy will no doubt point out the thousands of rounds they've done growing up at St. Paul's under bromby. This will matter not one iota, Campbell will have learnt far more from those sessions than coyle. Glad the lads earning a few quid but ppv?

The previous "double header" with these two was one of the last fights I watched prior to cancelling Sky Sports last year. Can't say I'm sad to read that this match up is running out of legs.

I know there will some decent fights on Sky this year but so far since cancelling I can't think of anything I've missed that has niggled me.

It's not running out of legs. It's a huge fight in Hull and will do massive numbers at the live gate. I doubt it will be PPV.

Good chance of it.

Coyle was completely devastated by the shot and Gethin is no puncher. And it was the complete reverse with Coyles shots having no effect on Gethin.

Everyone was looking past this fight so an ample opportunity to halt in Coyles favour would not have been overlooked I feel. But he gets the win and can get a good payday vs Campbell.

I take it there is a fair bit of local optimism around Coyles chances then?

I spoke to some casual fans from Hull who were amazed I saw it as an easy win for Luke. 99% will see it 50/50, just as Sky tell them.

Coyle was only super happy last night because all he had to do was get through it with a win and he has now set up that fight with Campbell and knows its a big payday.

He probably knows he will lose against Luke but the payday will make that easier to take

Gethin retired because of an ear injury by report, i know he had an injured ear before. but seems bit odd in a fight he stood a chance of winning

I don't know, he has a pretty high opinion of himself. He came across terribly in the post fight interview. I can only see him getting worse.

When Coyle started trying to talk it up in the interview some of the crowd were booing and there was silence from the rest. They were talking about having it at the KC Stadium all along, now they're talking about Craven Park too and considering they want it in late July, it will be at Craven Park, which is half the size, they massively overestimated the size of the fight, it'll do well in Hull, but outside that, no one cares.

I'm not at all sure, Gethin had him and sauntered through the next round without throwing either a right hand or a left hook, he had no urgency at all. Any ear damage wasn't apparent whereas when it was hurt and damaged before it was red raw, swollen and looks really painful; he also winced visibly when it was hit and was in obvious pain when h pulls out. That wasn't the case last night and there wasn't a clear punch that landed on the ear. To me, Coyle was looking ragged, tired out. It seemed iffy to me.

Campbell is levels higher than Coyle and looked at least a division bigger, Tommy will get beat up but well paid.

I'm with you mate, but when I phoned to cancel I got the usual half price offer, and kept it just for the footy; the boxing on Sky is a waste of time. Adam Smith has ruined any chance it has these days of being taken seriously as a boxing channel.
I didn't even realise it was on last night, probably because it didn't have a noticeable main event, just a load of undercard fights - checked on here, read the RBR, and realised it wasn't even worth tuning in.... caught the Coyle knockdown posted on FB, and he clearly doesn't have a chin, what a joke.

Tommy was miles worse than Brian Rose was against Carson Jones that's for sure

Another hideous card from Hearn- totally unacceptable. Campbell - Coyle is a pathetic mismatch which Luke could win in the first round if he chooses. As for Gethin suddenly pulling out...please dodgy as fcuk.

Sky/matchroom boxing is very, very poor at the minute. Not just the ridiculous miss matches but also the Likes of Paul Smith on punditry blabbering on about being world class (as if) off the back of two loses to a worn out Abraham after getting a shot he didn't deserve is a joke. What is Smith expecting? A shot at Andre Ward... He's domestic level and should face Fielding who is also domestic level.

Also the thought of Halling calling Mayweather - Pac is jarring my brain..I hope BN get it even if Frank has to charge a fee to subscribers.

Recently, and quite rightly, some of Matchroom's matchmaking has come in for a bit of stick (last night's walkovers for Fielding and Saunders being prime examples).

However, the last two weeks on Fwank's cards have seen some truly diabolical "opposition" for Buglioni, Skeete, Pettit, Liam Smith and Satchell.

They are all at it. No point bending over backwards to criticise one over the other IMHO.

But the headline fights on fwanks cards were actually headline fights, not glorified undercard fights.
