I was struggling to make him out there.
A tad concerning, I don't remember having difficulty understanding Rocky.
Or am I imagining things?

Very impressive performance by Smith - he showed real firepower in there tonight.

I think most predicted UD or a late accumulation stoppage - not that.

Didnt see that coming i fancied Smith for the job but thought there was a good chance it could have been a stand off with neither man willing to take chances

Great accuracy, variety and composure from Callum again,Fielding actually did well to last as long as he did

Cardle-Dodd was a FOTY contender ruined by TOC,i cant believe he never gave Sean a count in a title fight so close to the end,i had Dodd 5 up going into the round, its a shame because Cardle deserves massive credit for turning it around so late but the ref dropped a bollock

Good on Burns for getting a rare KO but he was awful again, too much spoiling again, holding, boaring in with the head, crap jab that was rarely used and his cross was poor, his left to the body was good though and i wasnt surprised that was what finished King

I listened to it a few times and can't think of what else he could have said. Haha yeah I don't think he is in any position to question professionalism after that.

Cracking KO from Cox but Ferenc Albert is no Rocky Fielding

Weird and wonderful show from Dublin, some cracking KO's and McDonagh-Byrne at the end was a mini classic,Peter showed some good skills and clever boxing tonight and fought at a good pace for a 37 year old

of course not . cox did look explosive though power full.wbo european champ.both are probably waiting for a title shot. think they would both give james de gale a run. i think smith would beat de gale now

Brilliant performance from smith, he set the tone with his very first jab which snapped fieldings head back. Fielding could not get anything going from that.

A great win for "Mundo" Smith ................ I thought he'd win with a late stoppage or UD, but I never predicted a 1st Round stoppage ................... That's the local bragging rights sorted, now he needs to move onto bigger things.

Unbelievable performance from Mundo. I have got to say that Fielding was a bit naive after the first knock down. He left his chin out there and Smith capitalised. Hope to see Smith Vs Jack next.

Fielding knew he needed to hurt Smith to stop the onslaught but left himself wide open for the second knockdown which finished things for me. Can't really judge Smith too much on that. He has had tougher fight and we knew his power was good. Way too early to be making him favourite over Degale. Abraham v Murray winner would be perfect

Cox is looking great. But he's just smashing out bums at the moment. Needs a test - suggest Luke Blackledge. Easy fight to make.

I am a massive Callum Smith fan. I really think he is one of the brightest prospects i have seen in the last 20 years and have said so frequently. However, and this may sound weird, i think Smith showed a bit of weakness in there. The one thing you don't need to do against Rock Fielding is get into a 1st round shootout with him. I think the occasion may have got to him. Can't imagine that was the gameplan when he is by far the better boxer.

Don't get me wrong, i was jumping around the living room when he won but in the cold light of day i wonder if it did get to him a bit. Hopefully its a lesson learnt.

I thought Rocky actually landed some pearlers right on the button and had Smith rocked momentarily after the first knock down.

I dunno, its hard to knock the performance but it was a risky little game he played. I'd personally liked to have seen him outbox Fielding. Im probably talking bollocks.

Not at all.
I was thinking of throwing in the question, would you let Smith fight like that again?
It was a high risk strategy and I don't believe for a second it was the gameplan he was sent in with.
Against a higher level opponent, someone heavier handed or someone who can defend and counter better he could have gotten himself in bother.
It worked a treat against Rocky but as he steps up further through the levels i'd be astounded if his team allow him to approach a fight like that again.

Yes, that's one I'd like to see too. Makes a lot of sense and would probably be a good scrap in my opinion.

To put it in to perspective a little, Fielding came out to start that quick, Smith reacted and saw he was there for the taking. He realised very quickly he didn't need to step out of range and box on the back foot as he was clearly in control and hurting Fielding. He saw the opportunity to finish it and did just that.

He fought and beat what was in front of him.

Would love to see Smith versus Cox. Cant see it happening for the obvious boxing politics but Cox has far more natural ability than Fielding. But whether Cox could withstand Smith's power, accuracy and range of punches is another question.

I feel a touch sad for Fielding as he seems a decent lad and appeared to have the backing of most of the crowd last night. Easy and obvious to say now, but he was just too far out of his depth. I always thought he was just too robotic. I really hope he bounces back. Smith is super talented.

Cox has looked very exciting, but needs to step up the opposition a few notches. A match against either one of Blackledge, Markham or Buglioni would be good please Frank.

I doubt that was the gameplan, but Mundo caught him early, spotted an opportunity, and changed his plans in order to finish the fight quickly ..................... You could argue that ability to think on his feet, and change his plans, was a positive sign.

You can't knock that performance in any way. Fielding is no mug. No superstar either mind you. Groves v Smith is a great fight. Still think Callum is a little upright and open to a straight right. Not sure who I'd back now.
