cant see it coming off to be honest.
Browne is the "champ", has an easy-ish mandatory fight with Oquendo and the proposed fight with Haye only has terrestrial tv money behind it and its a very risky fight...

Haye is big business and would generate probably the biggest payday for Browne's next fight, bearing in mind it can't be Joshua, Martin, Fury, Wilder, Klitschko etc because of scheduled fights.
Oquendo is also injured at present, giving a small window of opportunity to arrange a voluntary prior to his recovery.
Haye would earn Browne his biggest payday by a country mile and make him a millionaire overnight.
It'll happe IMO, and it's a fun fight to look forward to.

No doubt it will be his biggest pay day so far but Browne will more than likely lose and then hes done in terms of mega pay days.
Oquendo back in Oz gets him a nice little payday, by then Joshua/Martin will have taken place and Browne vs. Joshua on PPV generates a hell of a lot more money for Browne than Haye on DAVE does...

Have to agree with this.
Plus Browne will be fighting essentially two mega fights back to back with no break.

This is not a world title shot.
If Browne didn't take this fight he's an idiot. I think he'll see that he can't turn it down.

Before you start calling Big Daddy an idiot for not fighting Haye, consider this.....
After winning the rematch against Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa went on to make TEN defences over the next three years.
Rocky was about the same age as Lucas is now. He doesn't have to go the Haye route. He can chase chickens & beat the Fres's of this world.

Why bother faffing around, just ask if anyone fancies a fight on twitter. Thats how he chose his last opponent.

I've never watched Fres Oquendo fight. Is he that bad? It would be nice for Browne to have a fight at home as 'champ' but is there a chance Oquendo might pull the 'upset'?

I think the build-up would be more hilarious to be honest: the fight would be dreadful.
Briggs is fat, ancient & wheezes like an old diesel engine.
Haye needs to step if he is serious about this comeback & fighting the ghost of Shannon Briggs isn't going to help him in that respect.

I'd go along with Eddie Chambers.
He's fast & quite slick & doesn't punch too hard.
He's not a corpse; he's a recognised name & I think he is British based at the moment, so it should be too difficult to make the fight quickly.

Hmmm, maybe I'll tweet Haye and throw my hat into the ring then, I could do with the payday. I don't have any pro experience, but my missus did buy me the David Haye boxercise DVD when it was reduced to a pound in HMV, so maybe if I practice the moves really hard I'll be in with a shot

Calm down dear. Like it or not, Haye is ranked #9 by the WBA. Yeah, he had one comeback fight, big deal. Ever heard of a guy called Pete Rademacher? Did he deserve his shot? And that was back when there was only one heavyweight champion. Back int good ol' days.

Hopefully Browne tells him to nob off.
Really can't stand Haye. Along with Broner, he's the fighter I most want to see get sparked. I usually cheer for British fighters no matter what but Haye and Khan are the two I just can't get behind. Joshua's getting their too although that's mostly his fans fault.

Fighting Chagaev (old, unwell, inactive, fat) for a second division was a 'mega' fight?

So wait, "I do have an opponent, but I am holding off for a few days to try and secure Lucas Browne..."
Does this mean he has someone lined up, but he'll fob them off if he can get Browne? Feel sorry for who he already lined up.

Seems to make sense as a fight for me. Fighting Haye will make Browne a lot of money. If he wins then he has the world at his feet. If he loses, then he'll probably end up getting a shot at Fury or Joshua to build up to a one of them fighting Haye. 2 big fights in the UK where he'll earn a lot of money.
Or he could just defend his title against no hopers in Australia and hope that he gets through 10 of them before they land a lucky shot

Browne denies any link -

I've got a feeling it will be Eddie Chambers. he's just been in camp with Robert Helenius and David Allen and hes talking quite abit about an up coming fight on his twitter. Chambers would be a decent challenge for Haye if it were made...

A German website is suggesting that Michael Wallisch was sent a contract and is in the frame now that Browne has KO'd Haye's hopes of a "world" title fight.

Provided of course Haye makes him an offer he considers lucrative enough.
Haye is going to most likely demand the lion's share, as he's the draw here, and can guarantee a big fight at the 02, given the numbers he did last time for fighting an absolute no-hoper. However, Browne has the option of some soft defences, sure, they won't make him huge amounts, but he can keep Haye waiting for a while. Could backfire however, if Haye manages to negotiate a deal with one of the other belt holders.

Oh yeah, it has to be a good offer. Haye needs to see this as an investment for a future super fight. He's basically buying a shot at a title in order for a (possible) unification with Joshua or even fury.
Speculate to accumulate dave
